Queen of Corset? I'm intrigued...
Don't get your hopes up, it might be a typo, since the Duchess of Cornwall is to become the Queen Consort. Though I assume Camilla will also keep her title as Duchess of Cornwall, just as Prince Philip was known as the Duke of Edinburgh.

I think Catherine has been given the title Duchess of Cornwall, but also, Princess of Wales, as Charles has given William his duchy. The commentariat haven't gone on much about that, given that Diana was also Princess of Wales.

There are lists and guides to help navigate the changes, and in any event, Ogg will know.

You're right.

(there, someone on the internet admitted someone else was right).

Someone writing porn stories based on the Royal family is asking to respect the royal family.

Irony and self awareness are lost on some people.

From what I've read, the heirs apparent don't automatically become the Prince and Princess of Wales. That title will be conferred upon them by King Charles at a ceremony for that purpose. (It'll give William and Kate a little time to learn some Welsh.)

Correct - it's a title bestowed by the crown, and in this instance Charles bestowed it in upon William in his first speech as king.

Being a Brit raised and living in Australia, the monarch as head of state is a part of my cultural and political furniture; and since my news feed now has three recurring elements: the progress of the coffin, Australian football (it's been the weekend, with most games played - I don't follow football, so don't know if some games were cancelled); and Chinese diplomacy in Australia, one gets to read the commentariat on the Royal Fam.

At least with an inherited title, you know what you're going to get decades in advance. The problem with a republic is that you're at the whim of a much shorter time frame, and that's when societies fuck it up - because someone has to be either chosen or elected.

Charles is older than me (but comes out of stock with demonstrated longevity, whereas I don't), so I don't know if I'll get to see William and Catherine, but that would suit me. One could do worse.
