We try to go to the drive-in movies at least once a summer. Last night I went with my Mom and my son and we saw the double feature: "Spiderman" & "Murder By Numbers" What's fun is watching all the people there. Kids running around everywhere laughing and chasing each other, people in all kinds of dress, drunk country folk walkin' around with a beer in one hand wearing overalls & dippin' skoal. Well, I should mention that the only 2 drive-ins in town are located on the outskirts in little country two-bit towns where souped up pickups and hangin' out at the local dime store is in vogue. heh

Still, we had a great time. How long has it been since you've been to a drive-in movie?

We used to have a drive-in XXX rated theatre close to where I lived growing up and me and my friends would sneak down and hide in the treehouse and watch the skin flicks. hehe.. I was born to be a perv.

Last time I went was last year. They just opened up here so I am waiting for them to post up new movies. They have ones that I seen at the theater playing now. :)

pretty:

Yeah, I know! We saw all the cool movies at the drive-in when I was growing up. I saw ET, Star Wars, just to name a few. Mom would pop a huge bag full of popcorn and all 6 of us would load into the station wagon in our pj's and go to the movies.

~sigh.

I took my son to see "Grease" when it was re-released at the drive-in too! That's also where we went to see "Titanic". There was a record crowd there that night. Over 1,000 people and that was at the end of it's run!

They fucking plowed down the Midway after my senior year in high-school and put a goddamned WALMART there.

Heartless bastards.

In Tallahassee they had a XXX-rated one.

It was cable-edition porn. Strictly T and A all of the good stuff cut out.

Maybe I'll ressurect drive ins. Need capital though.

There is ONE drive-in in my area. It's about 50 miles away. But I would give anything to take someone out there.

Besides, a truck can be cozy, especially with a camper shell and a mattress.

I think I was in college the last time I went to a drive in so that would be 23+ years ago!

They were fun though. :)

I'll never forget fogging up the windows.

Please don't come inside me, she said.

We were watching Dawn of The Dead.

Next day my dad sees the blanket in the back of the car and chuckles.

You gotta love Volkswagen. Only way to fly.

I haven't been to a drive-in movie since "Aliens" came out. Private J. Vasquez was hot. She used to live above me in an apartment in Minneapolis.

I've never done the nasty at a drive-in. I've been deprived.

You need to get you some while they you got a drive in near you.

You only live once.

The last time I saw a movie at the drive in was at the when I saw Nightmare on Elm Street 4 I think (Dream Warriors). Anyway that was at the Sumner County Drive in down the street from where I grew up. Drive-ins are great for many reasons. The Sumner county drive in was closed about 8 years ago I think which really upset me and quite a few others.

Rock and Roll.

If your talking about Dream Warrios by Dio yeah it is a good song... I think I have it somewhere around here. :D

We go several times during the summer.

Packing my nephews and niece and my son up in the SUV. Make a few pitstops along the way to pick up chips, candybars and soda's for the cooler. Grab a pizza from the Hut.

I like to back up and park in the front row, so that we can get out the lawn chairs and place them directly in front of the SUV. We make a little bed in the back with pillows and blankets for the smaller kids. During late spring and early fall, my mother brings plenty of heavy quilts that her grandmother made, to keep us all warm.

I remember when my parents would take me to the same drive-in when I was a kid every other weekend. We'd too get in our jammies and our dad would make us bed's in the back of the Toyota Celica. The first movie was often one that we could all watch (PG rated) and the second movie we were almost always made to go to sleep before it would start (R rated).

hey...I still am.

I saw that Kevin Bacon Invisible Man movie (I don't remember if that's the title or not) at the drive in last year. T'was a fun place to be, but the movie lacked some things.

I went last year with a bunch of people. It was Tuesday night, which is ten bucks a car load night (I think).

We had about ten people in the back of that van. The van without seats. We watched Road Trip.

It was fun, I didn't really actually watch most of the movie though.

I went to drive throughs as a kid but sind then they no longer exist, not in my city.

I'd have to drive 3 hours just to get to one.

never been as a teenager or an adult so I don't know what they are like, but I bet they'd be fun.

Arent drive throughs what they call the pick up lane at fast food joints?

Anyway, I haven't been to a drive in since I was like 4 and my mom had to take us along to see a Nightmare on Elm street flick...apparently we slept through it in the back or something...

Besides, they are no drive ins in my city anymore...all have been replaced by duplexes.....drive bys still occur fairly often though...so yesterday is still alive...
