no, it's definitely not as cute lol.

and no... it rained continuously today. rather fitting though... i left work early to attend a funeral service for a girl i worked with a couple years ago

she was only 31... melanoma cancer, it was terribly sad... but one of the most high spirited and perfectly beautiful services i've ever been to... and i've been to more than a few......

just another recent event to help me seriously think about the direction in which my life is heading.....

How sad

I used to never use sun screen when I was a kid. But I'm making sure to do so now and to get my kids totally covered with it, starting from SP30 down to SP10 when tanned.

How sad

Actually, every time I've seen her in interviews, I thought she came off as a complete twat... like that superior (drug-induced?) disinterest that seems to come off of Marilyn Manson when he speaks in interviews... almost like the person asking them questions isn't worthy of being in the same room as them, or just has no comprehension of who they are to be asking such inane questions.

But the face was more what I was referring to.

Manson was huge when i was in my midteens... i was waaaayyy into the alternative scene back in the day... my favourite bands of all time would be under the alternative/rock/metal label...

nirvana, soundgarden, sevendust, tool, manson (of course) etc etc etc

boring, boring thread this one.... dull and brassy. no pink aprons... no guinea pigs or lampshades...


dull and completely ordinary

B's Chicken & Vegetable Pie

4 x cloves of garlic crushed
1 x brown onion diced
1kg diced chicken (thigh)

1 x leek sliced
1 x carrot diced
1 x zucchini diced
1 x celery stick diced

salt & pepper to taste
3 x chicken stock cubes
2 x tubs of double cream to bind
1.5 packets of sheet filo pastry... or as many sheets as will line your baking dish.... or make your own pastry from scratch (i'm lazy lol)

saute chicken, onion & garlic... then add the vegetables.
add cream and reduce then add salt, pepper and chicken booster

*if you are impatient like me and need to thicken up quickly, make a roux (equal amounts of flour & water cooked to make a paste... i used 2 tbs of each in my last pie - make sure roux is cooked thoroughly as nothing worse than the taste or raw flour!!)

bake pie in oven at 180 degrees celsius for about 40 minutes (160 degrees celsius if fan forced oven, then increase to 180 for last few minutes to create golden crust )
