It's getting on mine. Just plucking away at that last tender nerve. So I'm outta here. But just for the night. Before I start going seriously insane and taking pot shots at people. Wouldn't want to sully the "nice" rep I seem to have. :(

It happens all the time, April...sometimes a change of scenery does a world of good.

Other times, it is fun to give in and take those pot shots!! ;)

Never my last nerve. I have a "low nerve" warning light, and bail out when it comes on -- that's long before the "last" nerve.

Kinda makes for boring chat when we only ever see the nice side of people.

I'm interested in all your sides, good bad and ugly.
It's what makes us interesting,ya know?

I have a low tolerance for frustration, and a huge amount has been dumped on me lately. This place is fun for a bit, then starts to annoy me greatly. So best to go before I say things I wouldn't normally say when I'm more "me".

Would that more people do the same. But maybe they enjoy inflicting small cruelties on others. *shutting up now*

I dont recall inflicting any cruelties, small or otherwise.

Well, there was that nest of ants that i set on fire with my magnifying glass when i was 7.......

*hugs for april*
hmm, not working you say? well, here's some chocolate. enjoy your break :) we'll be waiting for you when you come back!

I'm not averse to showing my "bad" side occasionally, but when the board stops being fun, it's time to go read something that is fun. I try not to be counterproductive when it comes to the board being entertaining for others.

I dont think i've been counterproductive either.
I just think that everyone being nicey nice and kissy arse all the time makes for boring chat.
I like to see bad sides.
Nasty sides.
Every fucking side,ya know?

Which is why my bed is surrounded with mirrors.

I can identify, April

not necessarily just about this forum, but with online communities in general. I'm pretty obsessive and compulsive so I set my own mines by my very nature. At some point I've got to check myself for the amount of time I'm here.

Back up. And if you do explode, folks will live. I can get quite funky. Cuss you out and think nothing of it. I think it's healthy to express your anger. You just have to think how, when, and where lest it backfires.

I'm going out of town soon. Hope you're feeling better by the time I get back. Be well.

Peace,

daughter

I think I may join you. It isn't the setting as much as it is certain characters that show how insecure they are by posting nasty comments.

Nope, it hasn't gotten on my last nerve yet. I'll usually just turn off the computer and go do something else.

There are ass holes everywhere, it's all about tuning them out. But it's alot easier on the internet because you have those handy little ignore functions.

This place is alot better than most. I remember the aol chat boards:

Press 69 for sex
69
69
69
69

And then the spammers that would fill up your whole screen.
This place is pretty mild compared with that crap.

I've obviously missed something.

Ah good! I thought I was the only one.

My thoughts are that if you think you should leave, then a break is probably best. I take breaks all the time, usually when the BB is cutting into my work time. :) So, take a break, if you like. Stay and vent about whatever you want to vent about, if you like. But choose your path. Are you folks going to walk away from what's upsetting you, or are you going to stay and talk about it? It's generally best to make a decision one way or another rather than vacillating between choices. Either way, I wish you all the best. :)

I must have missed something, too. Can I have the other half of your straw?

*Lifts arse, pulls a fresh piece of straw from the bale*

You cant be too careful.
And you dont know where i've been.

I don't think you've ever been counterproductive either. Some people however have been, and I generally ignore them. Notably people who have a fixed viewpoint that can't be swayed by facts or logic. I won't waste my time by arguing with them. I'll post my opinion and move on. Letting Trolls and shit-stirrers drag me down to their level doesn't do anything for my disposition or the general tone of the board.

My "bad" side is generally limited to one or two posts on a given topic. The rarity of such posts enhanced their impact when I do let the "bad" side out.

It would take a lot to make me say I hate Literotica, but I'm finding I have less and less to say.

Maybe it's the season but no one seems all that goddamn amusing or funny here. Back to watching Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts on DVD.

Phyllis Diller is a hoot.

Every once in a while this place gets me grinding my hind teeth. Generally it's because I show up bitchy in the first place.

I don't think that's ever stopped me from posting though. As long as the important people still grudgingly speak to me, then all is cool in Muffie's world.

Sometimes I live for strife. I think I'm heading into a Muffie Down Cycle. I had one of those about this time last year. Hmmmm.

I have a low tolerance for stupidity in the first place and this whole birthday thing is just moronic beyond belief. How many freaking birthday threads do we need? I mean honestly? I only saw two where there was any sincerity whatsover. Debbie is always there for the birthdays and Enchanted is just a fabulous woman.

Anyway.

I'm hungry.

Putting in my bite block

I know then that it is time to go out and run an extra couple miles and paint a bit. Hugs to you April. KM you don't neeed no stinkin Gingersnap hugs you need a big carmel milk chocolate brownie. ;)

Everyone's waiting for someone else to post something "interesting". Rather than take the initiative to do it themselves, everybody decides to focus on the "stupid" or "annoying" posts. Pretty soon, we have threads full of people who claim to want to read interesting threads, but are spending all their effort complaining about stupid threads. Then other potentially interesting people show up and say, "Gee, this place sucks! Everyone just sits around and complains about how sucky it is without doing anything about it!" And THEY leave. And so it goes...
