According to the commericial January 9th the new Tickle me Elmo Plus will do something it never did before.

That makes me suspicious.

That means they are using some sort of clock setting technology.

From everything that I have read on clocksetting technology is that it is semi invasive to be able to do that.

My question is how invasive is this technology?

Just what are we bringing into our homes unawares?

Conspiracy? Probably. Hyperimagination? Probably.

But just what if?

In best Jim Phelps voice:

"Good Morning, Mr. Hunt. Blah...blah...blah. Your Tickle Me Elmo will explode in 5 seconds. Good luck." LOL

As For clock setting technology, sooundslike a long term alarm clock to me.

it's got to have some sort of clock setting technology because there is no ways batteries will last two months of usage them things go through batteris like water goes through tourist in mexico.

It creeps me out. That was my first reaction when I heard about it.

I'm glad my kids are still too young to be influenced by marketing.

i believe if there is clock setting tech inside there has to be global postioning technology inside it as well for time zone differentiation.

could there possibly be a satilite audio video uplink?????

Todd, if you are serious then, with all due respect, stop trying to figure out electronics unless you know something about them to start with.

An internal clock could keep time with a very small internal lithium battery separate from all other functions, and it could even switch to usingthe external battery power when available. Such batteries can last for years. Ever wonder how your computer keeps the correct time when turned off and unplugged? That is how.

Of course, if you really insist on thinking of something sinister - again consider the movie "Chucky". ;)

yes I beleive that there could be something more to this this that meets the eye nothing supernatural ala chucky

more along the lines of a control device innocently planted
