Does Lit need an upgrade?

Lately I've noticed that this board is soooooooooooooooo slow! Either reboot the machine or give it some new hardware, 'cause browsing at any respectable speed is impossible. Not that I am not greatful for what I am given for free, this is just a suggestion. I have been coming here less and less due to the fact that I have to wait 30 seconds for each page to load. Not as fun as it used to be.

Rest of the site loads fine, but the bulletin board does seem to have slowed over the last week.

I've been experiencing wide spread slowdowns lately. Mostly at Lit, but not exclusively.

Slowdowns could be anything from your particular connection to a slowdown of the Internet in general to Lit. having problems.

I don't mind the ocassional slowdown, what I dislike is the search function that doesn't seem to work and when I choose "quote" to reply to a post, and the post has multiple quotes interpersed with replies, I only get the text after the last quote.

Pages load fast.. I always open pages in another window.. (maybe this has something to do with it, i don't know)

Never had problems with double posts, unless I accidently hit the refresh button on the wrong page.

Hitting the quote button does exactly what it's supposed to do..

Why are other people having so many problems?

I access the Lit board from two locations, both with very high bandwidth and on two very hgih end computers. It's just plain slow. 30 seconds to load a thread is excessive.

Sometimes i'll click on a thread and halfway through loading the page up, it will quit and I'll end up with just a blank/ white page. So I have to hit 'refresh' a second, sometimes third time before it will finally fully load up.

I go to other sites, like my Yahoo mail, and I don't have the problem.. it's only when I come here.

Frequently I have to reboot the whole computer, thinking it's my machine.. but that usually doesn't solve the problem like it used to. I've even tried defragging.. nope.

I'm hoping it's just a phase

but I do know that I experience slow loading problems here, there and just about everywhere lol I mean it's 4am, not exactly the "rush hour" Laurel mentioned, and I still have to wait for things to download, must be this dinosaur PC, and then there are times things pop up so quickly, I have to watch what I'm posting where, especially with too many windows open. kinda like my sex life

I have *exactly* the same problems and bot is it annoying when it decides to quit just as you try to post something that took a while to write and you lose it.

The problem I was having yesterday was the edit function.

The whole thing (page) would disappear and tell me there was a problem with the BB. Well,duh, I kind of figured that out.

But it does take forever for the pages to load today.

Its been happening to me for weeks now. Some times are worse then others depending on the time of day. Right now (11am EST) is pretty good... it will slow down at lunch time... and later in the afternoon as well. There's a point in the evening too - between 8 and 11pm when it gets really slow as well. Obviously the # of people here (not just the BB I think, but reading the stories where most of the action happens) is slowing down the servers.

I, and at least one other person I know, also haver been having problems with the edit function. It returns an error msg whenever you try and edit a post. However, even though its not immediately obvious, the edit does go through.

I don't know if it's because of something that you've done on your end or not, but the pages are loading at "light speed" at the present time.

Did you get the email I sent you about the Aquilera video? After I sent you the email, I went back to Naked-celebs.com and I noticed that the video was no longer there.
