..expanded Fellowship and am about to watch them both, all night long?

I mean, I waited two hours into the day?
Isn't that patient enough?

Yes.

Does the expansion pack actually have the UNCUT film version or just deleted scenes? And can you buy just the additions? Or do you have to buy the whole thing again?

What? I KNOW I'm a geek. lol

Well, you're half a freak. Anyone who actually pads George Lucas' pockets for that trash he put the Star Wars label on, should be ashamed to call themselves a Star Wars fan.

Georgie is gonna have to bring back Gary Kurtz to salvage that sunken ship.

But good call on the LOTR:FOTR extended version. I get my copy tomorrow.

Your welcome to have your opinion about the fucking movie, but since I am padding his pockets by buying the DVD and going and seeing the film twice in the theater, I must say that I am rather insulted by your opinion of those who like this shit.
So, if you ever insult my intelligence again, I will make it a mission to fuck your ass with my 16 x 3 inch strap on with no lube. ;)

The deal with LOTR is that it is the extended version of the movie, not delete scenes on a menu. They are put in the movie as a whole.

There are parts that were totally cut out, that are added in, and then there are parts that where edited for time duration, and those parts are put back in the film.

You have to buy the new movie.

And I suppose Jar-Jar is your idea of a good idea right?

That's the problem with kids these days, they didn't see Star Wars in the theater when it first came out, so they now want to fuck us in the ass because we did.

Psssst....George Lucas is a nitwit.

Cool. Thanks Fishie. Kind of a rip off to have released it earlier then isn't it?

That kind of bothers me. But I'll buy it anyway. lol

yes

But in that case we are both geeks, at least you havn't spent like $2,000 over the last decade buying WEG Star Wars RPG material to read and play with. I LOVE Star Wars AND LOTR and remeber reading the whole Tolkein trilogy in 6th grade. :) BTW-I have all the Star Wars books, novels, and many of the comics as well. :D

Why the hell did I buy the first version?? I shoulda waited :(

Fishie, do I have to insult your intelligence, or will you do that for if I just ask nice. Pleeease.

SM:cool:

I guess I am a bigger geek than you. We got a copy of SW II a few months ago. Someone sent us a advanced copy they got and did not want. I was pretty impressed by his generosity. People would have paid some pretty money for it.

I went this morning and got LotR and SW II all nice and legal at the retail store.

I'm such a geek.

My LOTR extended version shiped from Amazon today!
...I uh, already had the other version...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Does it make me a total geeky freak that I already have Episode II on DVD and the...

LOTR is kicking MUTHA FUCKING ASS! I havn't even gotten out of the shire yet! There is so many new little add ins. It makes the movie fuller, richer, and better if you ask me. It is going to take forever to get through though. I have work to do so I can't just dive full tilt into it. :(

Yeah, they shouldn't have released it before. That is sorta a rip off, but I am looking at it from the perspective that it is nice to have the original cut for my future kids to see it as it was in the theater for me.

Now, on to my rant....

Psssst....George Lucas is a nitwit.

You're fucking in for it now. You have really pissed me off and I won't for the life of me let you walk off all arrogantly like you think you have the upper fucking hand because you clearly do not.

You divest Lucas on what grounds? That you are a better writer/artist/visionary? Where is your life's work shithead? What have you done that has blown the doors off the FX industry? What contributions have you made to ANYTHING in the motion picture movie industry?

Now, pertaining to me, ass face, you should know who you are adressing before you assume shit about what someone's position is. Kids these days? Yeah, I am a pretty grown up kid.

Do you realize what an ass you look like right now? But what do you care, you seem to know everything about me so accurately.

I think for the sake of your own ass, I'll clue you in on the truth about me, so you won't make this same mistake again. I'd like to be on 'decent' terms with you, but you insult me one more time and you are as good as non existant in my book. Got it?

I am 29 fucking years old. You have no grounds to assume I am new to this shit. I saw A New Hope in the theater four times with my big brother in the 70's. I was The Almighty High Princess L-funk for Halloween, and he was Darth "Kill Bob_bytchin" Vader.

He had a Starwars bedroom set and ALL of the ships and figures and we played Starwars all of the time. He read me all the books, and he would tell me all of the lore and explain things like what the klone wars were and the history of the sith.

HELLO? ARE YOU GETTING IT?

I GREW UP ON THE SHIT, moron! (notice I didn't yell moron, cause you probably aren't really a moron, you're just being an ass.)

Now, as I have sucessfully managed to become all grown up, married, pay my own bills, and put food on my own table, I somehow managed to become a professional artist too, and because of my vast wisdom, I can see the higer value in his current work over the non existant value of your bitching about it's supposed deficientcies and think I'll remain loyal to the man who inspired me to see things about the nature of humans, and how we can rise above our flaws and seek our dreams.

Jar Jar binks didn't make or break that movie. If that is not the most worn out complaint I've ever fucking heard about this shit, I'll kill myself right now. The point has been made, over and over, to the point of it being the only thing anyone complains about and that alone says to me that the film was fine, and people are what is fucked up.

Anyone who let the ENTIRE movie be ruined for them because he was trying to give something to the very little children to connect with, then you are a selfish shit, with no conception that these movies are made for EVERYONE, not just critical pricks.

I'd have loved to see you do a better job making episode I, on your own, your vision, your knowledge. How far would you have gotten if you had the money? What vision do you have? Is it better, or are you just being a typical complainy pants with no real imput on what was importantly lacking from the film

What people like you don't want to admit is that you don't know the first fucking thing about what it takes to make a film like this, especially one of such high quantity of visual effects and that more than likely if given the oppourtunity, you'd fail at it without having others to teach and tell you everything.

Fuck, the dude designed and built the first ever digital movie camera. You top that and you can call him a nit wit all you want with no offense taken by me, and I'll stop thinking it is actually you that is the nit wit.

Besides all of the bitchery about Phantom Menace, those who idolize the rawness of A New Hope need to realize that was not his entire vision of the way the movies would be. It was made on a budget. He was limited, and that is why he did the special editions, to make them live up to HIS vision. Not the vision of some tightwad, pompas asshole critic, who thinks everything he does is lacking, when that very same tightwad, pompas asshole critic doesn't know the frist thing about what Lucas wanted the feel of these movies to be about in the first place.

There is nothing about Episode I or II that doesn't aptly serve the needed portraying of the story to link it to the previously made episodes. No one can aruge with that. I've posed serious lists of questions about the things he'd need to cover and explain in the three movies, that justify the original work, and he has yet to not answer them aptly. I have already have begun drafting an outline of what he must do in Episode III, and we shall see if he succeeds.

Hype is hype. Not art. Art is Art, and if you make hype about art claiming it is bad art, you'd best have some more solid arugements about it's flaws than a bitch about an annoying character. Maybe he was meant to annoy you.

How can you complain really? I mean, the fact you are not understanding the entire 'picture' of related matters pertainant to the art he is creating, so how then can you justify yourself as being worthy of the criticism on any profoundly impactful level to another person?

If I were not an artist, I would most likely not waste my time trying to be an art critic. It is only that my deep and throughly educated understanding of proper compostion development, value placement, and many other detailed and rather needed conceptions of what art is about, that enables me to be a good art critic. This is where I have the upper hand on this matter, whether you'd admit it or not. I am a visionary and much outside influence comes into play with the development of a piece. An original idea grows and transforms, sometimes independantly from the artists, and it is all part of the process.

This was another attempt to wake people the fuck up to the idea that if you can't do better yourself, then shut your fucking cake hole.

Okay, now... *gains composure*

Have a nice fucking day.

I think that if purchasing and watching the DVD's didn't already make you a geeky freak, that rant to Bob_Bytchin pretty much sealed the deal. Holy crap, I've never seen someone invest so much passion in the defense of a movie. Woah.

Yeah, I am a cunt like that.

I made a special trip out to the local Costco for the two DVDs.

*is a total geek*

I have still to get myself to watch LotR, just haven't been in the most for it yet. SW ep 2 I bought so I could watch it with sound. I saw a bootleg copy at a club one night. I just want to see the scenes with Mcgregor & the fight sequences. If I really get into watching heck I might watch all the Anakin & Amedala scenes.
