Dementia can sometimes intensify a person's existing personality traits, so if someone was not nice , the condition may make those behaviors like his malignant narcissism, even more pronounced. Yes. In my opinion, having spent a lot of time around dementia, yes.

I know there's various experts doing all sorts of in depth analysis of his speech patterns, but I'm just going on what "I know it when I see it " of experience. I'd check the bin and the sink if he said he'd eaten today, because I wouldn't rely on him remembering. It's more noticeable than it was 4 years ago, and I wonder how much longer before it becomes undeniable.
