Does anyone think that some take these boards just too seriously.

I was happening to browse some back postings and came across an astounding post. In fact I was quite speechless. Here was everyone having a laugh, discussing topics, expressing their opinions and generally enjoying interacting. If a topic is not to their taste then they do not participate. Then I discover a post from someone who shall remain nameless, but if they choose to read this they will know I mean them, pointing out that my grammar and spelling were not perfect, nor my prose correct. Quite beside the point that earlier in that same thread I had pointed out that I was halfway down my second bottle, they then went on to point out that my style was boorish, in a way which exceeded any of my original boorishness.

To be honest I could have been quite offended but saw the funny side of the post. Is it that some people here have just lost sight of the funny side of life or that they have an opinion of themselves that perhaps is higher than they prove in their attitudes and postings.

Unless a spelling error creates a great opportunity to pun in reply or the poster's grammar and spelling are so poor that they cannot be understood, correcting another's posts is an invitation to having a big juicy dill pickle inserted in their rectum, IMHO.

I think perhaps a number of people here find it necessary to demean others based on the anonymity factor.

Most who flame here would make a serious effort to curb their tongue(s) if it meant they might have to take a left hook to their collective noggins.

Sometimes I come here to get fired up emotionally, other times it's for light hearted humor, and the flirt factor.

I do try to refrain from getting on anyone about punctuation, spelling and grammar. I also try to refrain from name calling, but have no problem at all telling someone to go piss up a rope if it's called for.

I dont think anyone takes these boards too seriously. Like it or not its an exact duplicate of the real world.

Thats if you decide to talk about serious issues.

And for some people this is as about as real world as it gets.
