I bought an IPL handheld for 350 or so. Pricey, but after you get 2 or 3 treatments done, it gets smoother and smoother and for a long time. You also do not get ingrown hairs.

An Epilator is much cheaper, and sees fast results too. I think they run between 40 and 100.

In the past, I shaved too. But on the ass cheeks and some other places, the little stubble that was left was irritating. I also plucked what I could.
