Do you ever want to not write a sex scene if it doesn't take the story along?

I've just submitted the story I was wondering about, and it has a blowjob scene in the beginning, but the sex scene at the end felt too ... private to the characters ... to want to write out. Like, I could have, and it probably could have worked, but it didn't feel like it fit the vibe.

I mean yes we're on the smut story website, but it feels ... out of place to describe. Like, there's gonna BE a sex scene later, and there was a blowjob moment right out of the gate, but writing the sex scene after an emotional build feels gratuitous. Anyone else ever feel that way?

I can completely relate. I'm currently in the middle of a story that's already 8,400 words long and I'm far from having the characters have sex.

I do too. I do this in my stories all the time. Sometimes it's good not to show the readers everything.

Fucking is often pretty banal. For me, the interesting part is often how they got to that point. So, often, I stop the story where the reader doesn't expect it.

Readers hate me for it. What few I have. Oh well.
