I believe every one of us has the power to create every experience we are in~~ what are your thoughts?

I believe that experiences happen to us, and that we have to choose how to respond to them.

I am a strong believer in fate and destiny. If something is meant to be, it will be. If not, then it won't be. We can exact some influence...for instance, we can protect ourselves from an accident by buying a car with airbags...but can we prevent that accident from happening? No.

So...experiences are waiting for us. It's just a matter of how we handle them that defines us.

I thought Tin Cup's 12 at the Open was probably the greatest 12 ever.

Kind of a vague question. I would think it would depend on the moment. Anyone who says they are always in control of every situation is either fooling themselves or flat out lying.

Hey Sunstruck,

I don't know if that is what Ethereal~minx was implying. I think the question is more about the nature of people, and how some people passively approach life and let things happen to them, and how others take an event or a moment and can turn it into an opportunity to be embraced and acted upon.

Of course, I could be dead wrong also :D

Damn, you made me have to watch that movie. Again.

I think this makes about a thousand times.

I think every experience you go through is a direct result of your thoughts, but because of our limited view of the world around us we see the thought and the experience as being two separate things.

Just my two cents.

I believe if you grab life by the ass shake it up and ride for the full 8 secs you can't ask for anything better well maybe finding the perfect wave but a 8 sec right is more likely. :nana:

Not an easy question but

"Do you define the moment or Does the moment define you? "

one so many of us have tried to answer throughout life.

All I know is I want to live by living and not simply by breathing.

We choose our pathes in life that are affected by fate. Should we stay at one job or go to a new one? Do we go into a relationship or not? Do I make a right turn or a left turn? Which ever decision decided is the one we choose. It is our moment whether it be a second, minute, hour, days, months, years, or a life time.

I remember when I was in Europe and with my aussie friend. He was very matriculous and always wanted things planned out. One day he was tired of doing the planning and asked me to figure it out. You see to me it did not matter what we saw for I knew if I turned left I would see things I hadn't seen before and if I went right I would see new things also. Sometimes we can't be so calculating but we need to enjoy what is about us for there is always something new about us it is just up to us to open up our eyes and take it in.

Then there are times in our lives we do not have any control over anything. Those are called the curve balls that are thrown into a comfortable way of living. Everything is going great and you are satisfied with your surroundings. An illness, loss of job, death, accident, a fight with loved one, etc. occurs. In the aftermath of things you look back and say I was here for a purpose and that has made me a better person. During that experience you might not have seen it or felt it but after all said and done when the clouds have settled you realize it was something that made you stronger. Again another moment that creates who you are. Can we change our destiny I believe we have that ability.

Enjoy the moments about you for it is simply that a moment.

Peace,
Tulip
