While I realize we have favorite forums we frequent, I was wondering how much cross populating occurs on this site. Do you frequent other BB's here? If yes, which ones and what do you like about them? If not, why?

If we are talking Lit,I am everywhere. I like most of the boards here.

If we are talking elsewhere,then I am on a few others. Mainly ivillage's boards (I moderate there) and a few Buffy boards and a couple of video game boards.

I frequent the How-to, Lit. Personals, Amatuer Pic. Feedback, and of course the GB.

Mostly general board & picture feedback. I do see who's online when I log in. If one of my favorite authors such as Killer Muffin or Cockatoo is somewhere else I'll look them up, just to hear what they have to say,but I rarely post in those.
Sometimes I'll do the same with daughter, sometimes I put her in the personality category, and only look for her when I see a fresh post or on one of her threads.
Mostly, I find new stories & old favorites more interesting than the other forums.

Here, of course, and in How To..., and in the Author's Hangout as well, though less so now that i haven't had anything new to post in some time. If someone from the GB mentions something funny in another forum, i might go see but usually not.

A while back, i gave up my attachments to other places and have been exclusive to Lit for months and months.

Writing brought me to Lite

My s/o is always checking out writing and sexuality forums for me. He found this place so I immediately gravitated to the Story & Poetry Feedback. I'm a resident there. I post to the related forums as well. I met a cool writer so we started a story in SRP. We kept it going till my sweetie came to visit. I'm more interested in real play these days.

Then, my partner started reading in GB. So I followed. I had visited before, but not knowing anyone and belonging to other sexuality sites, I didn't hang out. Now, that I have connected with folks, I'm hanging out here more. I know some members from other forums, and I'm not currently working on my writing. General allows me to continue writing and dialoguing while I take a break from my prose/poetry efforts.

I'm obsessed with writing. Right now though I neither have the desire or energy to focus on my art. Any writers here understand what I'm feeling?

I spend most of my time on the GB, because I have the most fun interacting with the people there, but when I feel like I want to be visually stimulated, I go to the Amateur Pics Board...There are some very attractive ladies posting some very sexy pics!

I, too, feel an obsession with the written word. Through what appears now to have been a divine convergence, I found Lit and received some timely advice on reading and writing that has opened my passions to written expressions. I don't consider myself a writer, but communication is my heartbeat. I've always taken the less patient form of verbal articulation. Now I live for the opportunity to practice the voice of my inner thoughts and feelings. My 9-5 job is a very satisfying release of creative energy coupled with the left-brained tendencies to engineer. Lately, though my work is suffering because feelings are wanting to flood my time with writing. It seems like a difficult balance to maintain. The flow of creative energy seems to avoid the bridles of my schedule.
I don't understand your feelings completely, Daughter. The freshness of writing is still so new to me. Do you feel like you are missing out because of the lack of desire or energy for your art? Where does that regret-like feeling come from? Mine usually come from my unrealistic expectations of myself. Maybe you can relate.

While I love to write, I have difficulty focusing and I lack discipline. My problem at present is my inability to be consistent and regimented. I need those elements to take my writing to another level. I am frustrated becuase I have struggled with these traits all my life.

My job is stressful so my energy is down. Like Cath, Lite is a release valve for me.

I have a conference in January. After that, my goal is to carve out a writing schedule. I have plenty of work that needs editing and revising. I also work on an e-zine, and we have an upcoming issue so I'll be doing that as well.

Keep writing whenever, however you can. I can't imagine not writing.

as far as Lit goes, I mainly stick to the General Board, with very few visits to the other parts fo the boards, but occasionally I will check them out, and post there if it's something I want to post about.

I'm not obsessed with writing and never have been but i need to do it, sometimes. Perhaps that's obsession's little sister?

In any case and for now, i'm carefully maintaining most of my feelings within the heart of a continental glacier lest they escape all at once and possess me like the bitterest of demons. Since i can't handle those feelings all at once, i let only tiny bits out at time in an attempt to understand and absorb mountains of pain and hurt in a somewhat controlled manner.

An unfortunate side effect is that i can't write anything true when i'm so disconnected from my feelings.

For now, for me, the tradeoff is worthwhile.

Everything in life is some kinda compromise.

I'm able to live out my fantasies in the SRP Board. Just like you, I take a vacation when my husband is home. I only come to the General Board to B.S.
