So-o-o.
Does it really reduce sensation that much when you wear a condom?

:nana:
(Stay still, I've got to fit this condom on you, banana!)

The big difference with a condom is that it's dry. But since the wetness is a pretty big part of what makes it fun, then, yeah, it does reduce sensation. (One can always put a bit of lube on the INSIDE of the condom.)

Get your condom's from over here, then. They are lubricated !
And thus one does not loose too much contact sensation.
Frankly, I'm surprised you get them 'dry'. It seems makers ain't payin' attention to their market.

It's been a whilie, but...

Yeah they do,

We've been married for forty plus years, but yeah, they did. When we first hooked up we were young n dumb, but smart enough to use them. Tried various makes n styles, lubricated and 'dry' using our own lubes. Just wasn't as much fun.

We had an open marriage for several years and used them, but again wasn't as much fun.

Absolutely.

Can't speak for the female side, but there is the simple fact that while wearing a condom, the guy looses the sensation of the friction generated by thrusting. Sure, you can feel the pressure of her squeezing, her tightness, but all the actual friction is on the outside of the condom.

Also, I think there is a huge psychological difference. I'd expect some women to agree with that.

Imagine that you are at your favorite restaurant. You order your favorite meal. The waiter brings if to you and sets it in front of you. It looks as good as you remember it. The aromas rising from your plate cause your mother to water, your skin to tingle, and your breath to shorten. You sink your fork into it and raise it to your mouth. Just before the fork passes your lips, the waiter wraps your tongue in plastic and says "enjoy your meal." That's what wearing a condom is like.

Sorry; that's just twaddle;
unless, of course
the Makers of condoms in the USA don't really know what they are doing. . . .

IMO it sure does. Skin to skin contact's what sex is all about, period. I liken using a rubber to taking a shower wearing a raincoat; you get the experience, but don't feel anything. :D

As a woman, I can say condoms feel different than an uncovered cock. Even for a girl the sensations are different. I'm not sure how to explain it, except to say that even with lube, it still feels fake. Maybe it is physiological, maybe not, but there is a definite difference.

Don't apologize, you're entitled to your own opinion. However, I have used enough condoms in my lifetime from a variety of manufacturers in the US and Japan, including both latex and lambskin varieties, and that's my evaluation. If you enjoy using them, well, good for you.

They aren't nice. I've only barebacked once and it was an incredible feeling. An incredible feeling that was followed with a lot of guilt, a plan B, and a nervous STD check.

I have yet to have a committed relationship, so those are my options. Slightly worse sex, or guilt, plan B, std check, etc.

Yes, I've found there's a degradation of sensation--both physically and emotionally--when condoms are used.

The one time I went without a condom was worse than all the other times I used a condom. Though I think the two vaginas had more to do with that than the rubber...

It's been over a decade for me, but yeah it makes a difference, there is a lack of sensation.

But I always told myself I would rather have the lack of that sensation than a recurring itching and burning sensation or worse, the sensation of a twisting stomach waiting for the results of a pregnancy test.

Yes

Yes, I can tell a distinct difference without one. The skin to skin contact is not felt, the body heat can not be felt, can not speak for others, but I can tell quite a difference.

Hold up your right hand and extend the middle finger while closing the rest.

Grab your finger with the other hand and slide it up and down slowly. Try it with a twisting motion. Ah, that feels good.

Now, go put your right glove on and try it again.

 :D

Thank you

Thank you for all the different views and informative replies. As ever, a pleasure to come here ;) and educational too, what a bonus.

I used condoms with a tight little Asian woman, and I didn't with a loose Polish woman (which was a total blunder on my part, I really shouldn't have had sex with her).

You shouldn't make love to a loose woman of any nationality.

Meanwhile,

Dear makers of US condoms,
your users are getting heartily sick of your inability to understand them, and do some serious pandering. It's all supposed to be about 'safe sex' these days, but you don't seem to understand the requirements for sensitive lubrication at all.
One can only assume that you all have dozens of kids; you surely do not use your product.

Yes, sensation is reduced, and it always impinges on the intimacy to pause to put a condom on. Plus, the smell. But, honestly, the other choices are worse than that if you're hooking up, so I always use one.

I tend to use ultra-thin lubricated, and those work pretty well and have a relatively small impact on sensation.
