It seems to me that they'd find it more annoying than anything, but American women usually like British or Australian accents.

Which American accent are we talking about, exactly? New York? Texas? California Surfer? Ghetto?

America has a lot of accents...

To Europeans, it's all the same. For the purposes of this question, I'd go with the most common, the general American accent.

(Although my opinion is not requested in this thread I must say that I love a British and Australian Accents. Talked with a man who was British then moved to Australia. EVEN BETTER)

I'm a Canadian living in Australia. They tell me I have an accent! as if......

Personally, I detest Australian accents, which is unfortunate, because I've never encountered an unpleasant Australian person.

"Hey, I like you as a person, but you could you, y'know...use sign language?"

course it's not

there are plenty of american accents i like, and some that make me wince. don't ask me which accents because i have to hear them first to know what effect they have on me; bronx/new joisey can be painful to my ears, but not all the time - depends on how strident the voice is. same as some lovely accents can sound all wrong coming from the wrong people.

Well, most Europeans do. Who really considers England part of Europe anyway?

I'm not a fan at all of the californian accent, especially on men.

The upper class deep south drawl is pleasant though. Very lulling.

I admit I can't tell the difference between Canadian and USA at first. It usually takes me a couple of minutes to tell them apart.

On average though, most USA accents are slightly annoying to me.

But hey, I don't expect everyone to like my accent either.
