Did you file your 2002 income taxes yet?

I just got my papers two days ago. I'll go this week.

e-filed and awaitin' the moolah to hit my account!

What will I do with my $139 you ask? Um... pay a bill? :D Heh.

I have no incentive to file until April 15 since I know I will owe quite a bit. I just dread having to pull all the paperwork together and actually DO them.

yep should get the 4 grand back this week.

Wow. The U.S. government would like to take a moment to thank you for letting all of its citizens use your money for free this past year. Thank you.

It's been the same for me every year as well. So I wait until April to fill out the paper work. And mail it in with a check on the 15th.

Never did get interested in making interest free loans to the government. Never understood why anyone would want to.

Yeah, my dad taught me that lesson pretty quickly. lol Next year I'll probably get even less back than I did this year...

I want my money NOW!

Yep.. filed and should have the money in a few days.

I got a nice little refund back.. THANK GOD for earned income credit. Without it.. I would have owed money.

I agree :D , hence only getting a $52 refund (when I file, that is....)

Thankfully, part of MK's expat package is that we have someone who handles all the tax stuff (both US and UK) for us, or it would be a friggin' nightmare.

I haven't filed yet. I'm waiting until after i buy the school supplies on my list for the spring. After i do my taxes, i always go into shock over how much i've spent on my classroom and "cut back" for the next few months.

Result: I have lots and lots and lots of supplies for fall and winter and not as much for Spring.

Mr PCG took ours to H&R Block on Friday. I spent the whole time he was gone sayin little prayers that we got a refund instead of having to pay like we usually do. Something worked, because we owe Uncle Sam nothing and the state is sending us a $14 check. It's not much, but it beats the hell out of owing $8000 like we did a few years ago.

I haven't worked or had to file myself for so many years. A bit of fear has come over me. I won't put it off too long though, and I'm in pretty tight with an accountant friend for some help.

I don't like doing it (the interest free loan to the gov, that is), but we are really bad at saving money. So this is like a forced no-interest savings acct. for us. Each Feb. (or thereabouts) we usually get some money back. 2 years ago, hubby bought the kayak he'd been wanting and I got my fancy mixer. Last year we got a new couch. This year he's getting his motorcycle training course and I'm getting my grain mill. But since he just put on another stripe, this may be the last year for the fun goodies via this source. Guess we'll have to start doing our own saving.

I'm making my mom do mine this year, since all of my W-2's get sent to her house.

:D

Filed it, and already received our first check, which was our state taxes. That was $565! WOOT.

Now, we just hafta wait for the federal, so we can get caught up on student loans, and utility bills.

Finished them all today. Getting a couple hundred from the state and about 500 from the feds. Thank god I can write off all my student loan interest. I either max out or nearly max out every year on it. Sadly, I'm taking my entire refund and channeling it into a student loan payment. WHEN WILL THE CYCLE END???

are you kidding? I'm a broke student. I filed & already spent my refund about a month ago!

Us too!

Course, to the comment on letting the us use it for free, well, only 1,259 of that was actually money we put in. I'd say we got a nice bit of intrest. So, thank you everyone, who paid in this year. :p
