Did Joe Just Win The Election For Kam?

BB beat you to the punch by an hour and a half.

No scoop for you.

I’ve been reading speculation that this is Putin cutting Trump loose. Trump was bragging that he would bring the prisoners home after he was elected. That only he could do it.

If Putin has decided that Trump is already toast, he may be cashing in his bargaining chips now instead of waiting until after the election.

More likely Putin's prisoners aren't worth anything to him & his popularity at home is at an all time low. :)

"Russia has long been interested in getting back Vadim Krasikov, who was convicted in Germany in 2021 of killing a former Chechen rebel in a Berlin park two years earlier, apparently on the orders of Moscow’s security services.

Speculation had mounted for weeks that a swap was near because of a confluence of unusual developments, including a startingly quick trial and conviction for Gershkovich that Washington regarded as a sham. He was sentenced to 16 years in a maximum-security prison.

Also in recent days, several other figures imprisoned in Russia for speaking out against the war in Ukraine or over their work with the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny were moved from prison to unknown locations."

I was using “creep” a week ago:

The Harris campaign just opened up a new line of attack again the Trump/Vance ticket in addition to cop v con: Normal v creep. Part of the reason the couch/dolphin slurs have gained so much traction against Vance is because he comes off as such a creep. Donald Trump has always bragged about being a creep, manhandling women and peeping at them while they're getting dressing. He assaulted E. Jean Carroll, hung out with Jeffrey Epstein, and paid hush money to Stormy Daniels. America is sick of creeps.View attachment 2370223

I'm old enough to remember when the right was clamoring that Joe wasn't doing enough to bring Whelan home.

Guess that no longer is a thing.

according to the press conference, Kamala Harris was as deeply involved with the whole process as the President, with regular meetings called by him to discuss ways to help get the hostages back to their families.

Good news for their families. Good people on both sides will be happy, I suppose. Has the 78-year-old convicted criminal revealed how he secretly arranged all of this behind Joe Biden's back?

Should be forthcoming on his social media account. I don't have access to that or X either so hopefully someone will let us know here in the real lit world of politics. :giggle::unsure:

The White House dismissed concerns about President Joe Biden‘s light public schedule, with the president hosting no public events for the second consecutive day.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was repeatedly pushed Wednesday on Biden’s schedule since Vice President Kamala Harris replaced him as the 2024 Democratic nominee last week.

“No, he’s not done governing at all. I think that appearance would be false,” Jean-Pierre told reporters.

vance is already trying to claim this was because of trump

Ohio Senator JD Vance said President Joe Biden's prisoner swap that secured the release of several Americans held hostage in Russia, including Evan Gershkovich and Paul Whelan, is a "testament" to former President Donald Trump's strength.
He continued, "But we have to ask ourselves, why are they coming home? And I think it's because bad guys all over the world recognize Donald Trump's about to be back in office, so they're cleaning house. That's a good thing, and I think it's a testament to Donald Trump's strength."
and here's the difference between trump and Harris:
Trump responded to the news of the prisoner swap on Truth Social, writing, "So when are they going to release the details of the prisoner swap with Russia? How many people do we get versus them? Are we also paying them cash? Are they giving us cash (Please withdraw that question, because I'm sure the answer is NO)? Are we releasing murderers, killers, or thugs? Just curious because we never make good deals, at anything, but especially hostage swaps."

Harris welcomed the news on X, formerly Twitter.

"Today, we celebrate the release of Paul, Evan, Alsu, Vladimir, and others who were unjustly held in Russia. It gives me great comfort to know that their horrible ordeal is over and that they will soon be reunited with their families. @POTUS and I will not stop working until every American who is wrongfully detained or held hostage is brought home," the vice president wrote.
