It Was The Night Before Christmas - COVID Version

It was a month before Christmas, and all through the town,
People wore masks, that covered their frown.
The frown had begun way back in the Spring,
When a global pandemic changed everything.
They called it Corona, but unlike the beer,
It didn’t bring good times, it didn’t bring cheer.
Contagious and deadly, this virus spread fast,
Like a wildfire that starts when fueled by gas.
Airplanes were grounded, travel was banned.
Borders were closed across air, sea and land.
As the world entered lock down, to flatten the curve,
The economy halted, and folks lost their verve.
From March to July we rode the first wave,
People stayed home, they tried to behave.
When summer emerged the lock down was lifted.
But away from caution, many folks drifted.
Now it’s November and cases are spiking,
Wave two has arrived much to our disliking.
Front line workers, Doctors and nurses,
Try to save people, from riding in hearses.
This virus is awful, this COVID-19.
There isn’t a cure. There is no vaccine.
It’s true that this year has had sadness a plenty,
We’ll never forget the year 2020.
And just ‘round the corner - The holiday season,
But why be merry? Is there even one reason?
To decorate the house and put up the tree,
When no one will see it, no-one but me.
But outside my window the snow gently falls,
And I think to myself, let’s deck the halls!
So, I gather the ribbon, the garland and bows,
As I play those old carols, my happiness grows.
Christmas ain’t cancelled and neither is hope.
If we lean on each other, I know we can cope.

For those wondering, ′′ how did i do it?":
I Boiled 1 liter of water, added 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate, two cups of coke and half cup of lemon juice then stirred well . Waited 3 minutes, put the pan in the solution for 45 minutes, then added a quarter cup of chlorine bleach to the mixture. Then I brushed it with a firm toothbrush and put it back into the liquid for another 25 minutes. I took it out, rinsed it and it looked exactly the same, so I threw it away and went out and bought a new one.

I have pots looking like the left one. They are not damaged on the inside, remarkably.

Good morning! My Las Vegas family reunion was canceled during the summer. Now, a family get together by zoom is planned for Christmas. Let’s hope it goes well.

Good morning! My Las Vegas family reunion was canceled during the summer. Now, a family get together by zoom is planned for Christmas. Let’s hope it goes well.

Get ready for the New Normal. The zoom reunion could be fun. I did a virtual doctor visit 2 weeks ago. It went okay.

I think zoom could either bankrupt the porn business or increase sales. There could be too much free virtual sex, but I'm sure porn companies are working on how to make a profit.

Three men die on Christmas Eve and go to heaven, where they’re met by Saint Peter. “In order to get in," he tells them, “you must each produce something representative of the holidays."

The first man digs into his pockets and pulls out a match and lights it. “This represents a candle of hope." Impressed, Peter lets him in.

The second man pulls out a tangle of keys and shakes them. “These are bells." He’s allowed in too.

“So," Peter says to the third man, “what do you have?" The third man proudly shows him a pair of red panties. “What do these have to do with Christmas?" asks Peter.

“They’re Carol’s."
