Good afternoon!
Just letting you know I appreciate this thread. I also appreciate those who post in it. Because of my lack of technology know how, all I can do is read and comment and maybe post a link or two. I do constantly read the contents here though.
Thank you!
You should never apologize for your lack of knowledge. Everyone was at one time where you are!
When I got my first computer in 1985 the Internet was a few listservs and not what they are today. I had an external modem and it took forever to get connected!
Ten years later, I was selected to teach at a new math, science and technology school. During the workshops people thought I was a techno idiot because I didn't know how to use a mouse. Another teacher told me how they were laughing at me. The laughter stopped once I displayed student work.
I did workshops around the country on how to use technology in the classroom. (no one was laughing) I was even selected to be a member of Scholastic Book Clubs Internet Advisory Council.
No matter where someone is, they had to start at the beginning.
Thank you for the encouragementI want to learn more. No matter what, having confidence in myself will be what I really need.
Decide on what you want to learn to do. Search for tutorials and get started. If the skill is too hard for you now, bookmark it and start with something easier. If you're using a laptop start learning to use some of the apps that came with your machine. I've never had a tablet, so I can't give you any advice on those. Just get started.
Good morning! I hope you’re having a good day...
It's okay. It would be better if I wasn't so darned lazy. But on the bright side........
You’re retired. You have a right to do WHATEVER you want to do. Be lazy. You’ve earned that privilege.
So I've been told. I wish I had help cleaning, but with the virus, I'm not taking any chances. I loved having someone come in weekly and do the heavy cleaning.
Yesterday I was looking for an Amazon box, thinking I'd left something in it. What I found was a dozen Amazon boxes in the hall closet! Crazy, when my neighbor will throw them away for me. So yesterday and today I made a trip to the trash chute.
I think most people will be happy with the virus is conquered! I want to go to the Fox, the Symphony, the Bistro and the Dark Room. I can walk to these venues, and I truly miss them.
Missouri ranks 50th in the number of people vaccinated. Right now they're on 85 year old folks. The doctor's office told me that they'll send me an email when they reach 72. I hope it happens soon.
My mom is 83 and we’re still waiting. Maryland is not as efficient as they claim to be.
I registered today. Of course I don't know how long it will take to get an appointment, but I'm hopeful.
I know a few people who don't plan to take the vaccine. Some of them are my age! Just crazy to me.
I took the polio vaccine when it was new and was happy to take it.
I have a feeling it will be a requirement just like booster shots to go to school and work (in the healthcare field).
