DGO's New Unthread!

Thank you. I don't think most people ever peek in. I've thought about leaving LIT for good. I've taken several long vacations, but probably won't leave.

I've thought the same with my own thread as well as the thought of leaving here. One day it may happen, you never know. I don't think anyone would notice too much. A few friends have left already...quietly.

Yes, a lot of my friends have also left. A few have maintained contact through Facebook, but I've totally lost contact with most.

When I realized Mark197205 was no longer posting and I had a real chance to make #1 I stayed. I won't make a big deal of quitting because too many people do that and return within the month. I'll just stop posting.

I hope things work out for you. I sincerely do. I no longer have FB as of 2018. If it's quietly done, who would recognize the difference anyway?

There's a lot of dram of FB. It can become depressing. I stay because of my high school classmates and my former students. My students are way too entertaining and I enjoy watching their kids grow up.

I hope neither of you leave. There are many of us here who would notice if you were gone.

You fall in a trap when you see other people here posting 200 times a day and quoting everyone in what looks like their social circle. That's fine for them, but if that's not your approach, don't worry. Be yourself. Your posts come from a good place, a good heart.

Definitely 2 of the highest quality people here. :)

Okay Good Life, what do you want?:)

Thanks for the kind words.

Good afternoon DGO. I didn't greet you this morning.

Good sunshining morning to you! May you get all the vitamin D you need today, and maybe see something outside that conjures up some grinning actions:rose:

Good morning! I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning, how about you?

Mask up, folks!
I did this photo for @TheLeavenKC of a choir director singing, to show why churches aren’t allowing song at services. This was her singing after about a 1/2 hour of us talking and setting up, so she hadn’t had anything to drink for at least 30 minutes. I did some pictures of her talking in German before the singing, so I could be sure to see spittle fly, as I was working on my lighting. So even if you’re not singing around your friends or even speaking German, the English hard D, G & T will still make this happen. Mask up when you’re out — do it for those around you, and remember that they are doing it for you.
Mask up because you might be an asympomatic carrier and you’re spreading it to others without knowing it, just by talking, singing or breathing.

Edited to add a link to the story from The Leaven: http://theleaven.org/singing-restricted-to-stop-spread-of-virus-protect-parishioners/

Edited to add some info about the photo:
For this shot, I needed to backlight Mary Jo, to best show what comes out of her mouth when singing. A backlight with a dark background helps the spray to be seen effectively. I positioned a strobe under and behind her, about 10 feet away and a bit to my left. It lights the subject fairly unevenly, which is why Mary Jo is bright on her left side and not as bright on the her right side of her face. But there was enough bounce and ambient light to light her on her right side, that it worked. That’s why I shot at a high ISO, to capture ambient and bounce light.

Shot on a Canon 5DIV 1000 ISO at 1/200 f/2.8 with a 70-200 lens at 145mm.

I also lit and shot this in such a way that I could be socially distanced.
