DGO's New Unthread!

Another young woman in the prime of her life succumbed to stage 4 stomach cancer. This is the second 30-something woman in the last few months. She left a husband and a young baby. It saddens me.
 
 
This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that
because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

It has been good, thanks for asking. This has been the best four days in months! I had an injection in my spine on Wednesday. I can't remember the name, but it hurt like crazy. I was supposed to get two, one on the left and one on the right side, but I only got the left. Friday I had some pain, but nowhere near what it had been. Hopefully this treatment will give me some permanent relief.

Hopefully you had a pleasant, productive weekend. :devil:

Either the pain is easing, or I've become accustomed to it. I was a bit too active on Wednesday and Thursday. It took my back a few hours to recoup.

Tuesday one of my students asked if I'd like to go out to dinner on Thursday. I hadn't told many people the extent of my situation, but I had to tell her. She then told me that another student was in town and they'd both like to visit. I taught E in kindergarten in 1970. I also taught him in 3 other grades. I hadn't seen him since 1979! The original plan was his idea and he was going to show up at the restaurant to surprise me. We had a nice long visit.

Whenever I get together with former students, it's always a laugh fest. I'm always surprised at what they remember.
