I know this may sound a little strange but I am curious as to what consists of peoples average day to day lives. It can be as detailed or as vague as you want to describe it. Things like, when you fuel your vehicle, what grade fuel? Do you read the news? If so on a laptop/computer or buy a newspaper? Do you skip meals because you are so busy? Do you want to excercise but have NO time or won't make the time.

If noone wants to answer and the thread dies, its all good! Thanks...

Ok I help you out with your first thread :)

My days are all different. I'm at uni studying for my Philosophy BA. I also work part time in retail fashion. On my no lecture/no work days I will be sleeping or posting here & other forums I use, or reading & completing essays. I try & watch the news at least once a day but usually end up seeing it twice, if I read a newspaper I haven't bought it I've scooped it at the library & it would prolly be The Daily Mail. I spend a lot of time on my faithful lappy researching & studying & have to discipline myself not to spend too much time on Literotica.

I don't have a car bc I live in a city where I couldn't afford the parking let alone the running costs & its not necessary here anyways. I rarely have a day to myself as most evenings are spent either with my mates around here or I go to theirs or we go out. I usually spend a couple of hours on the laptop before I go to bed at night, posting here & on other forums & weekends I am usually out living it large :D

xoxo

I am really curious how people would explain their life. I haven't lived a "civilians" life. I joined the Army right after I graduated high school. In high school I was into sports, girls, and the outdoors.

There are so many questions I would love to have answered. I think that rather than asking specifics a generalized question about a persons daily routine would be far more informative. I appreciate you helping this post along. I do hope some people participate in it.

Yeah it's hard to get ppl to do this quite often online as you have to be cautious. I wouldn't post specifics about my uni or place of work or times & routines bc theres some sick fucking weirdos out there! I had my face pic on my profile for a while but soon learned that wasn't the wisest idea I ever had

Well! I am so glad you asked........

I wake up, put on my pretty dress, do my hair, cook breakfast for

Beaver, Wally and Ward. Sometimes Eddie too. That silly Eddie!

Then they all go off to school and work and I clean, in my dress of

course, and cook all day......... with a smile on my face.

I make sure to have cookies and coffee in case one of my

neighbors stops by too. You just never know.

Just as i'd imagined it Mrs H...but i do believe there was no under garments beneath that dress (at least when i envision it!) and i'm positive there was some schnapps next to the coffee.

Ughh I dunno that I have ever HAD an average day...I'm a military wife - the best of both worlds.
I've learned to expect the unexpected, and have become use to adapting & overcoming.

An average day for me would be wake up...that is IF I've managed to get any sleep (I've got a mild case of insomnia, plus have been dealing w/ a lot of stress).
At that point I would shower, blowdry my hair, get dressed put on my makeup. Take my husband to work (joy of 1 car couple-dom).
Gas up the vehicle, Go to the BX, Go to the commissary, Come home, Unload the groceries.
Update my pantry list (I keep a running list of what I have in my pantry and upload it to my pc so then I know what I have on hand. I find it's easier to make a menu for the week if I know what I have.

Start on dinner prep - and that prep will vary based on what I'm making.
So...if for example I'm making Lasagne, Zucchini Squash Saute, and Focaccia
I'll take a beef roast, grind up some for ground beef, cook the ground beef, cook some Italian Sausage, make my tomato sauce -take takes about 2 hours-, make my own pasta -give or take about 45 minutes. I've yet to make my own cheese, but am contemplating doing so eventually.

Once cooked, I'll portion out some of the ground beef and put it in the tomato sauce along w/ the italian sausage, and the rest of the ground beef I'll portion it into a freezer container and put it away for chili.

In the mean time, I'll take what's left of the beef roast, and will cut some into pieces for beef stew, beef paprika, etc., then I'll take some grind it up and shape it into hamburgers and freeze those also.

I'll prep any other vegetables I might use later that week - whether it be mixed vegetable to add to my beef stew, or vegetables for a chicken pot pie, etc.,

I like to plan meals ahead b/c I never know when a normal day may turn into an insane day.

By this time once I've made my pasta, and cooked my sauce, I'll assemble 2 portions of lasagna 1 for that night, and one that will go into the freezer OR sometimes I've taken the extra portion to someone that I may know who might be recooperating from surgery, or perhaps they've had a baby, etc.,

At that point it would be time to go pick my husband up for lunch, then take him back to work.
Finish up any other grocery shopping -usually at a wholesale place like Sam's Club, any other items I can't get at either the commissary or Sam's Club, I'll pick up at a place called the Fresh Market (they are my fav grocer on the economy!)

Then head back home unload the remainder of the groceries, head back out to go run other misc errands, whether that means going to buy ammunition for the gun range, buying cake/bakery supplies, sewing accessories, etc.,

In the meantime I've got two small home based businesses of sewing & cake decorating/baking. So depending on any pending orders I might be making a cake, decorating cupcakes, baking cookies, etc., While those items are baking then I would go see what sewing projects I need to get completed

Once those are completed then it would an issue of unloading the dishwasher, reloading it -letting it cycle, in the meantime making homemade foccacia - and b/c it uses yeast, allow the steam from the dishwasher to help it proof & rise.

At that point go pick up my husband from work - come home, switch the oven on, pop the lasagna into the oven.

While the lasagna is cooking, I'll start paying bills online. Once that's done, give my husband a hair cut (if needed) sweep, vacuum, and steam mop the area where I've cut his hair.

Shape the focaccia onto a cooking tray, pop that in the oven. Set the dinner table.

Start a load of laundry. Vacuum.

Eat dinner, clean up the kitchen.

Head to the gun range (if it's a Monday).

Ohhhhh and I forgot...all while I'm doing these various activities, I'm playing both words w/ friends, chess w/ friends, lexulous, answering any texts that might come through, and then I'll pop onto Lit (I'm usually on my iPhone :D) Thankfully -the great majority of this post was accomplished via an app I have on my phone, where I talk, and it types -from there it was copy & pasted (w/ some slight editing, like the smiley)

LoL I know how to multi-task...my mum says that I could dance circles around people and accomplish more than most could in an average day.

wake-up, scratch nuts, wank. get up, shower ... maybe have a wank. get dressed, go to work ... indulge in a little wrist action. lunch ... have a wank. drive home ... wank (while driving, it's ... emotional). relax at home ... wank.

clean teeth - yep, you guessed.

bed, for another, final session.

actually, an average day would consist of getting up an 5:45, shower and head to work (45 miles south of where i live).

the courses i teach will vary, but there's generally a half-dozen or so who need some kind of training in gas detection equipment, breathing apparatus, first-aid ... ad infinitum.

if i get chance, rare, i will try to write a story or stories; most of which are in a file named 'ongoing'.

hometime can come any time 'tween 2pm and 5:30pm. in the evenings i may just watch some TV (i like the soaps - yeah yeah, so shoot me), maybe go to the cinema, write ... something along those lines.

then i'll have a wank. ;)

friday night is pub night, and the weekend could be anything. maybe watch harlequins play rugby (although it's 6 nations at the moment). perhaps go on a trip somewhere around the UK ...

an average day. s'bout it.

when i travel for work and stay in hotels, i wank a lot more.

Gosh, I wish I could wank as much as GA here. :D:p

Depends on the situations going on. Right now I am in recovery mode from falling hard at an event I was working.
So it's all day based around pain meds, sleep mainly stuck in bed for almost 3 weeks now.
Thankfully this weekend friends set me up a wireless router & a laptop which helps alot.

A more normal day & week is balanced in the home office between Lit & Facebook, email & phones.
Juggling troop support events and requests for what I can do to help on them PR wise or calls from the media.
On non-office days I'm running to do Patriot Guard duty, to the VA or other places to see & help where needed.
The 1 constant is the Friday afternoon Flag Wave where we say Thank You to our first responders for their service

BTW Soldier Thank You for your service:rose:

Well I am an early riser, so up before 5a.m., usual morning routine, take kids to their destinations, go to work, come home for lunch, go online and check the "hoopla" here on the boards, FB and check e-mails, eat lunch, go back to work, come home, cook dinner for the crew, watch a little TV, if I'm lucky catch a few minutes online and visit LIT, go to bed by 9 p.m.

Rinse, lather, repeat............

Of course the weekends are a bit different. But sooooooooooooo Middle America housewife-like.

Yep, boring, uneventful life............gotta love it. :D

I really appreciate your responses. I am just really curious as to how people live their everyday lives.
Ok, I will use one of my civilian buds as an example when I came in on leave and stayed with him. He is single and is borderline OCD. ALL of his stuff has a place and an example would be when he gets to a certain number of clean socks left he would wash them, and then rotate the freshly cleaned socks to the back and the less fresh to the front. Of course I had no choice but to mess with him a little. I borrowed a pair of socks to run in that morning and moved a couple around. Not only did he notice that but he refused to wear the socks I had worn ever again (I bought him a pack of identical Nike socks). He wakes up every day at exactly 0530 even though he doesn’t report to work until 0900. We both ran together and he had an exact path he ran. When I suggested we run up a different trail on the 3rd day it was as if he has caught me sleeping with his sister or something. I would run an additional 30 minutes to give him time alone to prepare for work. When I returned, his coffee maker, which made one cup, was ready and waiting for him. He would get the same travel mug out of the dishwasher, fill it up, and leave.
I did my thing during the day and in the evening I and a lady friend would join his lady friend and him for an evening out. The workday evenings were really laid back. I do not drink unless I drink to completely become a train wreck so I was the DD. He would order the same kind of wine with dinner every night. After dinner I would drop them off and head over to my lady friends house for several hours and would even drive to the beach just to sit and watch the ocean and collect my thoughts. When I would arrive back at his house to crash his chick was already gone. This happened all week until the weekend and that is when a couple of our other friends came into town and we hit the town wide open.
My chicky friend asked me what I thought she should wear and of course I told her less is more and at the end of the night I could put her black dress into my pant pocket, which kicked ass. We partied pretty hard and I crashed at her house. I woke up the next morning about 0900 and my chicky and I ran for about an hour to pick up her car. We drove back to her place, took a shower and headed over to Mike’s house. When we pulled into Mike’s driveway, he was cutting his grass, just like every one of his neighbors.
I left a lot out but I think I presented the gist of what his lifestyle is like. I am really curious if everyone runs in patterns like this or if most people’s day is sporadic like mine. If you wish to respond

Thanks!

Damn...routine is SO boring, and well not to mention he would be the prime target for a burglary -just saying, I mean all it would take is for someone w/ the intent to sit, watch, and wait...

My life at times while seemingly structured is random as can be. Usually people bid me farewell and end it w/ "stay outta trouble" and my friends usually say "every day w/ you is an adventure I never know what sort of mischief you'll find next" :D

My days vary greatly, some days they forget to open my cage at all.

I think a lot of the routine or lack of depends on the person.
Kind of how some people work well in office or cube jobs & others work better outside the box.
The strength is in how the person functions. I'm better outside the box in work & thinking...
minus the klutz thing I seem to have a talent for.

Up at 4 or 5. Breakfast at 4:30/5:30 Work at 5 or 6, Home at around 12. Housework til about 1:30 Lunch at 2. TV/Online Poker/Wii/Lit at 2-7ish Dinner at 7. Poker/TV/Lit/Out with friends at 8. Bed at 11/12.

Average day? Those exist? Lol!

Every morning I get to listen to why the blue socks with skulls and crossbones are so much cooler than the green socks with motorcycles. After a 20 minute convo about that, I try and remember if I've brushed my teeth.

I fix three heads of hair, try and remember who's coat belongs to whom, which dog goes in what crate, and if I accidentally used laundry detergent in the dishwasher. That of course is when I remember to turn it on before walking out the door with three bags, a sippy cup, coat, a scarf that doesn't look familiar and Corbal hellions in hand.

The first 20 minutes of the car ride we rail the music up loud and proud. To have a day without music is a day without sunshine. The last 45 minutes of my drive are solo with louder music and onlookers wondering what I smoked to be that fucking happy on a Monday morning.

I get to work, tell jokes, laugh with my girls and eventually work. I talk to the brilliant physicians, tell them in a very 'Im not nearly as brilliant as you' way that they can't say what they said on a medical report because clinically their opinions don't have medical documentation to support their findings.:D

When all is done, I sing at the top of my lungs for another 45 minutes on the way home and grab a a bag of Skittles. Sugar gives temporary energy and that is needed for the next three or four hours.

I pick up socks, shoes, dolls, step on GIJoes's barefoot, snag a dog for outside potty time. I explain for the 10 millionth time why dinosaurs no longer exist, why the sky is blue, how we get free cable and why one gets a bigger cup and more juice than the other.

We rush out the door with cleats, water and someone elses soccer ball. Jump on the HOV to the soothing sounds of Miley Cirus:rolleyes: and haul ass to make soccer practice fifteen minutes after it starts.

One plays, the other fishes goldfish from my oversized purse stuffed with things that typically don't belong in a purse and rarely belong to me. An hour and a half later I'm back on the road. Listening to grumbling tummies and an excited..."...did you see when I juked that kid?!?!"

Running through the front door, carrying shoes....odd, my shoes are on! Lol...shinguards, cleats, a hat that could no longer be tolerated and five bags I put together a ten minute meal. I eat standing because there's still more GIJoes to be picked up and it's easier to get to the choker when she doesn't chew well.

Baths ensue.....slippery soap falls, funny bath songs, I has soap in my eyes emergencies......oh yeah, and the dogs need back out!

Bed time.....who said that was easy? Cries, I don't wanna, but you gotta! Lol.....kisses, hugs, love you's and promises of the same madness tomorrow.

Silence....for an hour or so. Me with my thoughts....then wishing they were awake again.......

An amazing day, full of smiles and promise.....this is my average to some but to me, it's my life to which I love.
