In my fantasy universe, science would have proven beyond doubt that there was, in fact, no God. Or, conversely, that there absolutely was a god, and we learned exactly what it wanted from us and what our futures were after death. Either way, there would be no more violence, and certainly no more wars, based on conflicting religious ideologies, because there would only be one universal, indisputable truth, and everyone would accept it and genuinely live by it for the common good of all mankind. National borders would be universally accepted and abided by, so there would be no invasions or imperialism. Humans would learn how to reverse climate change and maximize our resources in the cleanest, most efficient ways possible. Our elected leaders would actually follow our wishes in ensuring health and joy, and we would all cherish our fellow man, despite differences in looks, language, background, lifestyle choices, etc. There would be no want for any material goods, as all would have plenty, so crime would disappear as a concept. Science would have eradicated disease and disability, and death would be genetically programmed to occur peacefully at, say, age 70. In general, Utopia for all until we leave this mortal coil...
Also, smoking would be healthy and smell pleasant, recreational drugs would have no ill effects, nudity and sex in public would be expressly encouraged, monogamy would still exist but polygamy and alternative lifestyles would be happily accepted, and I could smoke, drink, and jerk off at Applebee's whenever I wanted.
I'd settle for just that last part.
