DeSantis wants an election police force

Not necessarily, as we saw in 2000. Jeb Bush's voter-roll purge covered a lot of perfectly legitimate voters, purged because they had the same name as a felon or something. If that had not been done, W would never have been president.
Deniers are not in short supply on this board. We have 2020 election deniers, 2016 election deniers, and now a 2000 election denier…any 1960 deniers here?

When people believe in lies, no amount of laws are reasonable to improve confidence.
You’re right. According to Pecksniff, Gore won in 2000. According the Hillary, Trump was an illegitimate president, and Trump thinks he lost a rigged 2020 election. No laws will change their minds.

The courts decided 2000. There is certainly enough doubt in "hanging chads" for some legitimacy....as audits showed the absolute difficulty in the system. And so changes made from those issues led to more integrity in the system, by far.

The audits in the previous two elections just reinforced the counts (as did any recounts). Beliefs in issues mostly have been the result of ignorance of the process combined with absolute lies about what occurred. I doubt any changes made will address that. Most will just restrict voting access whether by location or time

No. The voters decided 2000.

No. The voters decided 2000.
You seriously didnt pay attention. Hanging chads.....that was the story. And because of that singular problem that was publicly demonstrated, they made changes to the process which eliminated that problem.

It came down to one county and a long drawn out court case. And that court case was far from straight forward.

BREAKING: Bush Wins!

BREAKING: Bush Wins!
I never said he didn't. I was focused on the part where real election issues were exposed and addressed...rather than lies.

This election force will not amount to anything...and he'll claim victory anyway

Yes. Fraud and irregularities happen in every election. That does not mean that it is widespread or that those things changed the outcome of recent presidential elections, but many elections, particularly at the local level, are often decided by a handful of votes. Reasonable laws that prevent fraud and improve voter confidence in election integrity are entirely appropriate. I’m sorry you’re incapable of mailing your ballot in. Maybe somebody can show you how.
The highlighted is appropriate. What laws that have been passed aren't. Again, it seems you are a proponent of operating on what you believe is true rather than what is true. NO election investigation has EVER uncovered enough fraud to swing an election, EVER (to verify that claim, see the one done in Arizona by Cyber Ninjas for the Republican legislature in that state). So going overboard with laws that will protect an election from something that has never happened, has never been a problem, or has (except in someone's imagination) no basis in fact, isn't at all appropriate. The laws passed to stop imagined voter fraud though do a lot of harm to voters.

As far as my ballot, I am happy to live in a state where everyone votes by mail. During the last election investigation, done after the last presidential election, a total of 35 instances of voter fraud were uncovered, a long way from enough to influence an election.

Kyle Busch won. Tyler Riddick lost.

Race fans everywhere booed and threw things at their collective TV sets, while disgruntled race workers had to clean up a lot of rotten fruit thrown into victory lane.

The thing is, even if there were lingering unanswered questions about the legitimacy of Bush's victory in 2001, and I'm not going to argue whether there are or are not... there should be NO such questions about Biden's victory in 2020. Because those questions have been thoroughly and unequivocally answered, multiple times. Biden was the clear winner after multiple in-depth audits and recounts. (Which makes Trump's refusal to concede look even more alarming in terms of an attempted overthrow of American Democracy.)
