Does depilatory cream actually work for anyone? It never seems to even a bit for me. Is there a secret to using it? I wax normally but would love to use simple creams if they actually worked. Lol thanks for any input.

I can only answer your first question, based on my personal experience; maybe someone can give you tips for your second. :)

I never liked depilatory creams - they smelled funky, irritated my skin and like you, never seemed to work. Plus, when they did work, it only partially removed the hair and the results lasted at most 4 days. Not fun.

Depilatory creams, despite their claims, do not work for everyone. I know that there are some for tougher hair and thicker skin, but after spending so much time, money and irritation, I just got frustrated and quit, so I have no idea if those work.

Personally, before laser, I liked waxing and was more satisfied with the results (by the way, I still occasionally wax the stray hairs and my thighs). I have a feeling that your skin and hair type is more like mine and if so, we're ideal for waxing. If it works, look at it as time dedicated to you. Or, you may wish to try pre-waxed strips or a home-wax kit and do it yourself.

Good luck. :)

They don't work well for certain hair or skin types. My best advice is to follow the directions on the package exactly as they state. Don't leave it on longer than the directions indicate. If it doesn't work, you'll probably want to consider waxing or laser (if the cost of lasering isn't too prohibitive).

The creams smell bad, irritate my skin and don't work for me. I have just accepted that I need to shave my lady parts daily to keep it as smooth as we both like. Shaving daily also keeps the razor bumps down for me.

The creams work for me, but I've found they work best if I've shaved within a week of using them. If I'm trying to get rid of more than about a week's growth, they don't work as well.

Despite the fact that they work OK for me, I don't like using them because of the smell and the way they make my skin feel - kind of icky/slimy no matter if I soap up after or not.
