As we saw at the DNC, the Dems are jubilant right now -- but only because they have a good chance of winning. Nobody seems to talk much about what they'll do after winning. There is no Dem counterpart to Project 2025. There is no Vision Thing. Nobody sees Harris as a transformative figure like they saw Obama in 2008 -- all anyone expects of her is that she will steer more or less the same centrist pro-corporate economic-neoliberal-and-globalist course as Biden -- and as every Dem back to Clinton. Just one more damned DLC DINO. There will be no reversal of the trend to ever-greater wealth inequality, no threat to the political power of the rich and the corporations. Nobody is wetting the carpets of corporate boardrooms for fear Harris should win this. They should be. The Dems should be a party that puts the fear into them, like it was under FDR.

And there's actually a thread running right now on whether the Democrats are Communists!

The stupid! It burns!

Depending on the issues and how far left we're talking about, my sentiments exactly.
I'll admit there are some things I don't like about Communism.

But I'll back any movement that will put down Christianity.

I guess the only transformative thing about Harris is that she's a woman.

That's something.

The country will be fine as long as the executive and legislative branches remain devided. :)

A strong argument can be made to the contrary.

Parliamentary systems have a better track record in general than presidential or separation-of-powers systems.

Lewis Black once called the Democrats a "party of no ideas," and the Republicans a "party of bad ideas." That might be an exaggeration, but not always.

Since the 1960s, the GOP has evolved into an ideological party, while the Dems have remained a coalition of interest groups. That might be what he was referring to.

Kamala Harris is not Donald J. Trump. That's all I need to know about this election. Her policies are irrelevant at this point. Trump's Project 2025 is basically the end of democracy in America.
You know, it's interesting that nobody seems to think Project 2025 is anything even Republicans would want to vote for.

There is the campaign and then there is getting things done. Sometimes staying the course with mild corrections is the best thing to do. Steady as you go!

WTF?????????????????????
Who else has mentioned helping folks care for their elderly???????????????

THAT SHIT IS NEW!!!

Good luck when that falls on you.

Kids?? You have a choice. Your parents getting old? THAT's a concern to the aged and those caring for them.
Especially after you took the last years of their lives to devote to YOUR KIDS (That's for JD)

No tax on Social Security??????? FINE !! Then don't tax the pension that prevented me for being part of the Social Security crowd. FOR GOD's SAKE start charging them a reasonable percent of their incomes to keep them in the money into their 80's or 90's!! My union is putting in 10% or more now! Granted my pension is giving back more than Soc Sec. I think, but it won't keep up with inflation like Soc Sec.

All those tips and overtime you expect to save taxes on????? You know that those are both being eliminated by the Trumplikkkans, right? Have you read your manifesto??? Never mind that Lawyers and every other profession will be figuring out how to rewrite their salaries into overtime and gratuities to get in on the benefit to the real WORKING PEOPLE!

We deserve a better choice than Donald Trump and Kamala Harriss. Nevertheless, Harriss is acceptable, and Trump is not.

I think America's best years are behind us, and nothing can be done about it. I want a politician who can manage our decline, and not make things drastically worse as Ronald Reagan did and as Trump will do.

Lewis Black is also a comedian and that statement was in his act.

People who are voting for trump are either in denial about what he’ll do if elected or welcome the chaos and threat to democracy he would bring.

We are a nation in decline as evidenced by the simple fact that trump is a pretty strong candidate for reelection, heavan forbid.

Trump's hard core of fanatical supporters are poorly educated, and low income whites. Many think they will be poor for the rest of their lives and want those they hate to be worse off than they are.

I'm surrounded by these people. I don't think there is a way to make them understand that they have more in common with poor minority people than rich whites like Donald Trump. They vote against their own best interest.
