Battle for defectors: Trump draws more high-profile Dems than Harris does high-profile Republicans

"I know that President Trump understands the grave responsibility that a president and Commander-in-Chief bears for every single one of our lives," Tulsi Gabbard said.

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are seeking to gain high-profile endorsements from their opponent’s party in the presidential race, with the former receiving more than the latter.

As Trump has received endorsements from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Harris has struggled to receive as many major endorsements from Republicans.

During his speech on Monday at a National Guard Association conference in Detroit, Trump said, "This fight is no longer between Democrats and Republicans. This is a fight between communism and freedom, very serious fight.

"That's why millions of traditional Democrats, including FDR Democrats, JFK Democrats, independents and old fashioned liberals are joining our movement. Our poll numbers are great. We're uniting forces to end the endless foreign wars, stop the censorship, end weaponization of our government, defend our borders, rebuild our middle class, protect the health of our children, and, above all, restore our republic."

Lol...histrionics.

Harris is gaining more voters. Trump is losing more voters.

Spin that however you need...the trends are clear.

When you get down to the rank and file folks who know the inner workings of politics the story is very different.

More than 200 staffers for four previous Republican presidential nominees have endorsed Democrat Kamala Harris’ White House bid, cautioning that the notion of a second term for GOP nominee Donald Trump is “simply untenable” and “will hurt real, everyday people.”

He's got the framing right.

Trump is way ahead in the polls. Don't bother going out in the rain to vote. It's in the bag*. Go shoot some Bud Light.

*douchebag?

Endorsements don't matter. If there's a clear winner by a huge margin, then all the hacks can say they always supported the winner after the election.

If you needed any further confirmation that Rightguide not only didn't write this, he didn't even read it very closely...

Tulsi Gabbard is indeed a "former Democratic Rep." She was a 2 term congresswoman in the US House of Representatives for the State of Hawaii. She was also a member of the Democratic party until recently when she changed her political affiliation to Independent.

Just because you lack any semblance of knowledge or comprehension skills doesn't mean the rest of us have the same issue.

More to the point, the Democratic defectors aren't a bunch of neocon chicken hawks like the McCain, Bush, and Romney Republicans.

How many of Trump's former government are endorsing him?

How many former Republican Presidents or Vice Presidents (including his own VP) are endorsing him?

I'll wait.

The fact checkers often fail to check their own "facts." They just follow the Party line.

In Pence's case, I definitely don't blame the guy. While I disagree with the description of January Sixth as an "insurrection," since it wasn't armed or organized, it was a riot, and in that riot, some folks were literally screaming for Pence's head.

It was organized by Trump and many attendees were armed with guns and explosives.

Trump called it an insurrection himself (and said it had been planned by Nancy Pelosi).

They're stupid. Outside of Lit they have zero political awareness because they're too busy huffing, puffing, and vaping. This is why they continually get facts wrong and jump off the cliff every time someone even suggests that Trump did something. (I cite to the Arlington cemetery misinformation/employee Karen debacle for this as just one example.)

As I've said before, they're lemmings gleefully running into the sea.

They weren't all armed, most of them weren't, and they certainly weren't organized with an active intent to overthrow the entire federal government and install a new one. That being said, it was a riot and it led to so many bad things, from an authoritarian response to a lot of needless mayhem, and even a death or two. Trump often speaks carelessly. You know that as well as I do. Then again, half of what Harris says is word salad and mindless drivel, so there we are. I'm not a fan of any of them. I doubt that Trump "organized" it. He's not really the sort to do that kind of thing. He speaks recklessly and does the Steven Urkel "did I do that" routine.

It's the herd mentality. Just go with the Party line. I'm not too fond of many on the Right, either, though, just to be very candid.

Not everyone at Gettysburg was armed.

How many do you need for you to call it an insurrection, like Trump?
