Deleting a thread?

Short answer: nope.

Longer answer: if no one has yet responded to the other thread (or quoted your OP), you can go back and delete it (just replace what you typed with at least 5 nonsensical characters).

Failing that, if you ask the mod (and give a compelling explanation as to why you want the thread removed), he or she *might* accommodate you.

You would PM the moderator of the forum the thread is in and politely ask for that thread to be deleted.

Is it the BDSM thread you want deleted? If so, I'd strongly suggest doing one of the following before you even consider PMing a moderator:
-Return to the thread to thank people for their advice and perhaps update them on the situation, and let them know you'd like the thread to die off peacefully. You can even edit your original post to that effect so anyone who reads it in the future will hopefully respect your wishes to let the thread die.

Why leave it? Because people took the time to post their thoughts for you and threads like that are a valuable resource for others in the community.

-Return to the thread to thank people for their advice and perhaps update them on the situation, and let them know you're going to ask for the thread to be deleted for personal reasons.

The warning/heads-up will show you value the opinions of those who made the effort to help you and you're being mature about the whole situation.

People in the community will be far more likely to support you if you handle this situation well. :)
