defining "gay marriage"

I was reading this and started thinking about the way gay marriages are defined. Most people think that a gay marriage is a same sex marriage I don't quite see it that way. I find it ironic that a man and women can marry and everyone assumes they are both straight and no one questions their orientation.If a gay man married a lesbian no one would question them and people would assume it was a straight marriage but it wouldn't be.

I guess what I'm asking is why are same sex marriages getting so much opposition when bi marriges ( if its a male and a female ) are not ?

Because they are just that, female and male partners, the holy rollers can choose to ignore any bi tendencies....In fact they probably would deny that there is any such thing as a bisexual....Same sex marriages scare the right wing, heaven forbid they might actually have to admit there is something out there besides procreative marriage....

I agree with you totally. Besides, I think that they are scared that if they legalize gay marriage that they will be forced to legalize other "liberal" things like prostitution and drungs because their hand has already been pushes. Truth be told I think that the government feels like it will make them vulnerable.
