Deep Thoughts...

This past weekend I was riding along with a friend through the country. The trees were beautiful and it was a nice, breezy, sunny day.

We stopped by a cotton field and wondered around a bit - talking about picking cotton as children, about our grandparents, just chit-chat. The field had already been picked over, just a few stray bolls here and there. I reached and broke off a small boll to keep as a sort of reminder of the day.

As we drove away, I remarked on the wonder of cotton. That God, or the Creator - whatever you call Him or Her - would design such a thing and that SOMEONE would actually figure out what to use it for. I mean, it's ugly. You can't eat it. How in the world did anyone get from field to spinning wheel in their head?????

And what about silk? What possessed someone to take those tiny strands from a worm and weave it into fabric????? I was just blown away.

Then, it hit me. KUDZU. There has to be a purpose for kudzu. Think about it. The Creator put it here on the earth for some reason. We ignored it. So...He/She made kudzu grow in such a fashion that we cannot IGNORE it, but...we still don't have a purpose assigned to it.

Why is Kudzu here? What are we missing?

Just thoughts....

PC's deep thought for the night:

If you plant kudzu near a rest home

pretty soon all the old people will disappear

then you won't have to feed them

or wipe their bottoms any more

That's what kudzu is good for.

Kudzu? I heard somewhere that you can eat it, but I wouldn't try it.

tswyk, I think your sexy

[/on topic]

PC - somehow I don't think that is the Creator's desired purpose...but maybe we could plant tons of it next to a certain someone's home down south and see if your plan works....:D

Mr. Gatsby!!!!

Maybe I should talk about cotton and kudzu more often

I think everybody in Ontario believes that.

No, it's a perfectly reasonable rumor.

Somebody somewhere at one time had to try smoking anything and everything.

Do you think if I smoke this elk turd it will get me high??

isn't kudzu root used as a starch, and a thickening agent? I'm pretty sure you can buy dried powdered kudzu at most health food stores.
