You know you can't just invent your own version of the story right? In the article YOU linked the company spokesperson stated that IF production moved to the US then costs would double. They CAN'T make it here for the same price. American's will not work for Chinese wages.

If they move to the US and production costs double, the end user price will increase to compensate for the additional production cost. Apple is not in the business of giving away their phones.
