Dear company I work for,
I've put up with a lot in the last 4 years and I've not really said too much. I was hired when I was desperate and it seemed like a good, solid gig at the time, and for the most part it was. However, in the last year things have been going steadily down hill. First it was the hours going down, keeping me at the bare minimum for full time employment, but keeping me just busy enough that I can't take a second job. Then it was all the new BS you rolled out on this new customer service plan. I've got news for you- this is IMPOSSIBLE to do with just 2 people per shift, and I don't need a stupid handbook to explain it all. I've been offering this same level of service since I've worked for you. You should know. You've sent me two hand-signed letters of commendation for my dedication to my customers. Now you up the cost of the health insurance, which added another $40 to the total deductions from my pay each week. After 4 years of raises (the max percentage each time, because you said I deserved it) I'm now taking home LESS than I did when I was still at $9 and some change.
But the kicker- the real punch in the dick for me- came when I was called into the office and informed that I could not take off the week of Christmas (as I had had scheduled for the last 2 months) because you decided to move the vacation blackout to the week before. Then you said I could take the time, but it would be unpaid and I'd lose a full half a paycheck if I did. This was going to be my first holiday with my family in almost seven years. My mother was looking forward to it so much that it was practically all she talked about. How the hell am I supposed to tell her I have to cancel it?
I'm done guys- I'm totally fucking over it at this point. I'm putting out feelers and checking leads. Eventually, I'll find a job with a future- maybe even one where I'm appreciated. And when that time comes, I'm a ghost. You might even end up as only the second company I ever refused to give a notice to. Kudos- that takes talent!
Sincerely,
Your employee- NOT your bitch.
On that note:
Dear Supervisor,
I'm tired of knowing more about, and being better at, your job than you are. Please stop using "I have a meeting" as an excuse. I work more hours than you do and I don't get to eat lunch. You're the boss. Fucking act like it.
Signed,
The person who should have your job.
