Well happy Tuesday. fair warning, my mood today can best be described as Bitchy McStabbypants. It is just stupid people, stupid people everywhere, and it is getting to me today. I really wish stupid people would stop breeding and multiplying.

Day starts easy enough, but I can already tell by the commute that I am going to have an ill-tempered day. The guy camping out in the left lane. The guy who suddenly makes a right turn, after going into the left hand turning lane and of course with no signal. ok, I am sorry you can't tell right from left but at least try to use the signal before you dart across four lanes of traffic. It is just one fucking finger I swear. I use this finger. Then lights. pull up to one going straight, and am the second car. Neither the left hand turning 1st car, nor the car in front of me are anywhere near the line which, of course means the light sensor. Being a centimeter from the bumper of the guy in front of me, did encourage him to move up, so while I watched the left lane get skipped, mine did not. Next light truck was better, but there was another guy in the left lane who also didn't bother getting anywhere near the line, so watched another lane get skipped. I see this all the time. How the fuck are there people driving around who have no concept of how a traffic light works. Traffic light sensors came out in the fucking 50s. Sure they are smaller and more sophisticated today, but the concept is still the same. Why the fuck do you think the line is there....to make the road look prettier? It has been 68 years, how did you pass the written test yet fail to grasp this concept?

Next get in to work, and an email was sent. It is basically a survey about our quarterly banquet but with words and not a rating scale as they clearly want our thoughts. It is simple, such as we have used 4 venues over the years, which is your favorite and why. What dishes have been your favorite? were there any food items you wanted to see but didn't? (this was relevant before with vegans and food allergies and such.) What activities did you prefer? What didn't you like? What entertainment did you prefer (we have had a magician, comedian, DJ, band etc). these would only be hard questions for new hires, as well they have only been to one. Anyway, 2 different people came seeking help on how to answer because they didn't understand. I still do not understand what or how the didn't understand. ok, all you have to do is send an email to our Administrative assistant, there is even this little button labeled reply so you don't have to type out her name, then read the fucking question and answer the fucking question. Seriously click a button to send a message and answer the fucking questions. How is this complicated? Just stop being stupid. ok. and if you don't answer, you don't get to bitch about the next banquet. I am asking the the administrative assistance for who responded, so next one, if I hear bitching, I can check the list, and then smack them if they aren't on it. You were asked your opinion, you decided not to provide one, you do not get the bitch when your non existent opinion was ignored. She is not a fucking mind reader. Clearly she is trying to improve it, just answer the fucking questions.

Next, more BCP meetings. Now, of course, as typical before BCP, we have to inventory our emergency hardware and get it staged. This is annoying because we have an inventory system, however because there are idiots everywhere most people's inventory in the system is not correct. How fucking hard is it to take someone out when you use it. How the fuck are you missing 152 switches. How did you take a switch 152 times and not remove it. once might happen, but 152 times. Next, why am I prepping emergency hardware? Pre bcp in my area is normally pre hurricane. Getting hardware ready makes sense as if any is damaged in flooding, as soon as the water is out, I can swap it out. Do we think Covid-19 is going to mutate to a computer virus and start downloading mass amounts of porn? This is not a typical event, I think we can relax a bit on the hardware.

BCP is Business Continuity Plan. exactly as it sounds. plans for everything from natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods, to pandemics, to cyber attacks, to active shooters, long term power interruptions . Now the truth is mass ones are generally only lightly tested. plans for this company, this building, this type of issue vary and again, aren't always tested to the max as it is based on risk assessment vrs how tests would interrupt business. Anyway, pandemic plans are now being refortified, and tested on a bit of a harder scale to make sure they can really be implemented in mass quickly and as seamlessly as possible
