Read "I Will Fear No Evil". I am FIRMLY convinced that Virginia helped write that book. Heinlein did too good a job as the man-becums-woman to not have had extensive input from a woman.

I agree with you wholeheartedly Kahn-e... I'm trying to re-read both Time Enough for Love (Now that I found it again!!!) and"I Will Fear No Evil". I'm sure Virginia must have had a strong influence in "Time Enough"... What a story. What an imagination...

Robert Heinlein's work has meant a lot to me for many years. I started on "Starship Troopers" and have moved on to many of his works, including my favorites, "Time Enough" and "Stranger". His books cycle through my reading rotation at least once a year. He is sorely missed....

Robert Heinlein's work has meant a lot to me for many years. I started on "Starship Troopers" and have moved on to many of his works, including my favorites, "Time Enough" and "Stranger". His books cycle through my reading rotation at least once a year. He is sorely missed....

It is a very informative and entertaining discussion. I hope you will be able to join us upon occasion.

To the wonderful starter of this thread....never realized there were actual living, breathing RAH fan-atics out there besides me.

Have read everything aside from "Take Back Your Government", mostly because I can't afford to buy the sucker on E-bay when it hits that lovely 80 dollar US mark.

I'm just overwhelmed by the sheer amount of thought that seems to have gone into his books.

The two movies that I have seen re-done of his works I can't stand at ALL....Regarding Puppet Masters, Hive my ASS!, and the less said about Troopers the better.

Anyway, if anyone actually wants to talk, I'm normally around, just gimmie a holler, or post here...I have most of my collection of Heinlein here at Uni, and would love to have the slightest excuse to pore over them again..

Also, there's that one last fuck before the battle and also men and women trainning together and fighting together. Those reflects The Master's late insights in human evolution. Other than that, it was a different movie from book with merely the title being the same.

I definitely agree with you about "Trooper" pilgrim. That shower scene is one of the few domestic films showing 'the full monty" (male frontal nudity). Actually I liked the movie and thought it was pretty true to the book... As much as Hollywood ever is, that is...

Have to add my 2cents about Troopers as well.....those scenes mentioned were very true to the book, but the rest was such a disappointment the first time I saw the movie. I especially hated when they killed his father off....them meeting at the end of the book was a great ending and it not use it was disappointing. But then I watched the movie again, and looking at it as a non-RAH story, I enjoyed it.
