Don't be defensive. At least not here. We know that not only did you not do it, but that your religion doesn't condone it.

Like Christianity and Shintoism, Islam has been the basis for a lot of death and destruction. If the followers who claim they are doing it out of divinity actually followed the precepts of their religion, there wouldn't be much by way of war.

Unfortunately, humanity gets in the way of everything. We need justification for our actions, and at times we require justification that cannot be argued with, at least from our perspective. God is a hard man to argue with.

Just in case no one has told you, CH, you have my unqualified faith and support in you and your religion. I do not know a lot about Islam, don't actually care to, but I know enough that the muslim family up the street are good, decent people and they don't deserve what's happening to them any more than anyone deserves a terrorist attack.

I wish that everyone would understand that just because we have some muslim nations as our enemies that muslims themselves aren't our enemies. Particularly those who live with us. You can't tell an enemy by the color of their skin or by their religion.

I am trying....but after I got jumped leaveing the Majid yesterday....I decided that a big part of the problem is that many americans equate Islam with terrorism,because they don't have any solid info on what Islam is.

But after dealing with the FBI in the past over my belief in God and the idea of a connection,and considering that now I have a black eye and many bruises from being attacked yesterday..

Surely you can understand my paranoia and defensiveness..

I'm hopeing any info I put up gets passed on.....

I can't even begin to imagine what it must feel like to be Middle Eastern, or even to look remotely middle eastern in this country right now.

What saddens me is that while the majority of Americans will not feel this way about Islam, or Arabs, etc. Those who do will be the ones to stand out in all of this and I'm sorry for it.

We should be hiding our faces in shame - not you.

I am ashamed that as an American I have a common bond with someone who would hurt another individual based on looks/religion alone.

It seems to me that this is identical, if not in magnitude in nature, to the horrendous crime which we are all so devastated by.

My thoughts are with you CH and I hope you won't let this get you down.
