I'm going on a cruise in January and would like some suggestions. I'm single and have never been on one before. Any suggestions as to destination, line, etc. I would like to hear of your experiences. Insider advice is always helpful.

I would enjoy someones company. It would have to be with someone that I knew a bit about. So, if ya get ta know me then...? Who knows what could happen...

A Greek Islands cruise! Fantastic! Although I don't know about in January. Probably your best bet is the Caribbean or Mexico, as the temperatures will still be nice and warm. Gosh, I would love to go, too. Try this link, http://www.frommers.com You should be able to get some useful information there. It's the link for Budget Travel magazine. Why should you spend more than you have to? Have fun!

Take Me! Take Me!

I promise not to barf all over you!!

I have had a couple of friends go on cruises this year (the lucky bitches) - their words of advice -- take seabands!!

I have performed on many cruise ships, and I've been to a lot of places, and I have to say that the most beautiful place I've been is the Inside Passage up to Glacier Bay in Alaska. Absolutely breathtaking. You spend 12 hours or so traveling up a sea passage that was only 75 years ago UNDER ICE, and the earth is only now starting to reclaim the terrain, with a few scattered trees and bushes, here and there. It's beautiful devestation. And you can see whales and orcas, and get off the ship and do some kayaking or hiking or helicopter flying to glaciers. In Glacier Bay you might get to see an iceber "calve" froma glacier. I did, while doing a mike check onstage for my show later that night. I was "Testing One-Two-Three" on the mike while looking out the window when this glacier just let loose a whole side of its face, sending this enormous iceberg into the water, and I let out a "Testing One-Two-Holy God Did You See That??!"

If you're not into the ice, but would like to hang on an island somewhere, I'd be very careful about which islands you choose. Jamaica is fabulous if you stay at a resort, but when you're just jumping off a cruise ship all you really get to see if a thousand people trying to sell you crap. Same goes for a great number of the Caribbean Islands. An exception is Barbados. And Grand Cayman (did I spell that correctly?) Grand Cayman is great -- you can take a boat out to a sand bar where you can get out and feed wild sting rays -- it's called Sting Ray City. People have been hadn feeding squid to the sting rays there for so long that they don't try to hurt you. I love to snorkle, and this was one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Try taking a ship out of New York to Bermuda. Bermuda is fabulous, and the ships spend a good few days there. Go in the summer, because Bermuda is not Carribean and it can get cool there in the winter. The people are nice and don't try to sell you a boat load of shit because they have triple-employment there, and it's a Brittish territory (or colony, or something like that). The beaches and coves are magical, and full of great places ot snorkle or dive. And the island has a pretty decent nightlife -- and you can feel safe there.

At some point in your life you should go through the Panama Canal, just for the experience. And of course there's Hawaii and...hell just pick a place you want desperately to go.

*sigh* I'm getting nostalgic. I haven't done a ship in a while. Maybe I'll do another. By the way, as a headliner I'm allowed to bring a guest for free. Any takers...?

Dixon.. I'm young and attractive and have the libido of a rabbit. BRING ME!!!

*muttering to self* Or maybe I should have played hard to get..

Oh please, please, please, take me! Please? I'll show you my pictures of Greece? Pictures of jellyfish in Italy? Come on, what does it take? Oh, I think I know! :D But, still, it might be worth it to go on a cruise. :D:D
