That said, there are some "pets" that aren't intended to be coddled and cooed over. That doesn't make the owner "unfeeling" or an "animal hater", it means the owner recognizes that some animals, even though "pets", aren't "fluffy fun companions of only good times that are there to make you feel good."

Any K9 police officer will send his dog into harms way. He'll feel bad about it afterward if the dog gets killed injured, but he'll do it because the dog isn't a "pet." Calling that officer an "animal hater" misses the mark. Saying someone is an "animal hater" for believing the same way, also misses the mark.

require a ramp because they cannot do stairs and can barely manage that.
They have a very poor quality of life and want to do nothing but sleep
and occasionally eat a little. If they weren't pets, they would have
been gone a long time ago. I feel sorry for them.
If it were up to me, I'd put them down.
But, because they're pets,
they have to suffer.
