Is Creationism a science?

Why does God allow Crack Babies? Science provides a real answer to how crack babies come about, but God is silent on the subject other than the "mysterious ways" stuff that isn't as satisfying as a motivation.

Ah my friend you have hit the right question on the head. The one that is so hard to figure. Another one is that if you could do anything you wanted to save the world would you sacrifice your son on the cross. I have boys. No way. The unsatisfying answer is that God does not control us all. We could be carbon copies of each other but he allows us free choice. He is not silent on the subject. He loves us all. But what we choose to do has consequences that he has let exist. Someday it won't be like that if you believe other parts of the bible where he will set up a new heaven and a new earth. But this is one I grappled with having had some of the things that happened to me happen to me.

The world was not saved. The crack babies certainly were not saved.

If he loves us all, why is Hell allowed and eternal? What sense does it make to punish sin or reward virtue for eternity when the sins or virtue took up an infinitesimally small time out of eternity? Sounds like a bank where you deposit or steal one penny and when you die you either get infinite money as a reward or more debt than you could ever repay.

I'm really not mocking you specifically and glad to hear you think about it. It's the problem with the literal that I can't overcome in the specifics I mention.

I study the Bible as allegory and as history, but too many parts of it are too repulsive for me to take it as a guide other than in some parts.

God gave people His Son so that they could kill Him in a sin sacrifice to God.

Why didn't God just stop demanding sacrifices?

I'd like to see some sort of empiric evidence that the sacrifice was worth it. The value of Jesus's life should have at least bought freedom from some of the plagues and floods and diseases and deaths of first born. Instead we got more of those.

Republicans are more likely to believe in Creationism than are Democrats. Republicans also tend to believe that tax cuts for the rich reduce the national debt, and that there is no greenhouse effect.

O

So apparently women aren't worth materializing a sacrificial goat.

How am I to feel about that...spiritually?

Be humbled that out of Adam women were created.

Ignore the goat thing. Focus on the Bible positives like bearing Jesus and probably doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes not covered in The Word. If it was all in there The Bible would be like twice as long. Very difficult to carry, sell or keep in hotel drawers.

Any God not demanding sacrifice is not worth worshiping. Sacrifices are something God and humans can pursue together.

It's not like we can golf, sail or just hang around together. Sacrifices are a common, shareable activity.

Did you just edit out Jepthah's daughter and make it seem like I was talking about "The Story of O?"

Totally different book!

You can't play golf with God anyway. I heard he once scored a bogey but wrote down par. I'm not saying it's true, I'm just sayin' it's going around.

My all time favorite is the "God created fossils to test our faith" line. I always have to resist the urge to ask them if they realize that they basically called their Lord a troll.

That's nothing compared to the way he trolled Job.
He killed that motherfucker's kids.
To win a bet.
Fuck
that
shit.

Try translating "under lubricated ben-wa balls".

I think that's what caused the tower of Babel to fall.

I get..."sub anointed alabaster eggs of the crocodile taken from the tomb of the oppressor used for such as stone is the only answer, die for asking"

Trouvere, what are your plans to celebrate the 90th birthday of Joseph Stalin next month?

For the 89th you said you kept it low key but this is the BIG NINE OH! Gotta be more than a candlelight vigil, right? Keep us posted.

Babel fell due to an architectural flaw very common in that time period. Considering the resources available then it's still a remarkable feat.

Your translation is very accurate which is why Story of O has not sold well in the aramaic-speaking world.

His lineage alone would suggest he was literate. Assuming the genealogies are somewhat accurate which of course they may not be but since it's nearly impossible to know for sure it's what we got.

I recall as a child he read from the Torah in the house of you know who
