Create a series from an existing story?

Hi there... I read a couple other posts with similar questions, but I think I didn't quite get my question answered.

If I have a single story (not multi-chapter), and I want to make it a part of a new series that doesn't exist yet... is there a way to create a "blank" series (with a title, of course) and then add that single story into it? Just to let my readers know that I'm planning to write more entries in that series, even though there's only one so far?

Or would the better approach be to write the next story for the series (Story #2), and make a comment to the admins when I upload it, saying that I want it to be merged into a series along with "Story such and such"?

Yes, if you create a 'New Story Series' in your control panel, it will be blank/empty until you add something to it.

Everything is obvious once you know how to do it, or where to find out how. Never be embarrassed about asking something you don't know. Just because everyone else knows, that doesn't mean you automatically know as well.

Note that the series won't be publicly visible until the admin approves it. Until then, the story will show as standalone.

Series approval can take a good week, by the way, so you might want to notify your readers in some other way regardless.

I went to recreate the issue, but I got it to work. *shrugs*

There's a glitch in the system, so that you only see the "add to series" option after you've previewed your story and gone back.
