"Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky"

I am looking for other voices that are simply looking for connection. We can write, talk, and laugh, tossing our words out into the dark, waiting for them to be read.

Yes, it does sound overwrought, but that doesn't make it any less true.

“I have measured out my life with coffee spoons”
I hadn’t come across that poem before, now feel that bit more depressed lol but also moved

How is your evening?

It is a fall evening, so there is beauty and a little melancholy mixed in, but that adds an edge to the beauty itself.

Eliot did bittersweet well. "Between the spasm and the desire lies the shadow." One cannot walk that bittersweet path for long otherwise one becomes tedious with an air of pretentiousness.
There is always laughter if you are willing to laugh at yourself first, before anyone else.

I hope your evening is going well.
