Why do couples, who say they are committed to each other, have a need to flirt with each other in these forums? Why not keep it private? I mean the flirting, not the nature of the relationship. When committed with someone I see no reason to flirt with her in various public threads.

Please don't take this the wrong way. It is just that I do not understand it.
Is is to show off? To say, "Look everyone, I have a b/g friend?"

Or, is this simply one of those things that goes past me?

well, do you think that couples should keep their flirting private in the real world too?

I don't know. It seems like some people like to read that stuff. I mean, it must be a little bit of an exhibitionist/voyeur thing for some, right?

The kind of flirting I meant in here, I don't see in public.

well, yes. But think about the context then. Obviously, given the nature of literotica, and online in general, behaviors don't match (in degree) what happens in the real world, but that doesn't mean they aren't the same fundamentally.

All I'm saying is that if I am with someone, I'm going to express it. It isn't me going "Hey, look, I've got someone!" it isn't about saying anything to anyone except between me and my partner.

help me out... what is PDA? If I knew what it was, I might like it.

Public Display of Affection
(or Personal Digital Assistant...but I'm pretty sure she didn't mean that)

I agree about expressing it. But, a few here seem to get carried away (from my perspective) and almost take over threads with their back and forth. Maybe I wasn't specific enough in my initial post.

IMHO love sucks, and is mythical kind of like the perfect man.....but if you do find it you want everyone to know and be happy for you......nothing wrong with that in any forum or walking down the street. PDA Public Display of Ass.......

ok, so your actual complaint is about thread hijacking?
(which I am most certainly guilty of)
that is hardly limited to couples though

but you certainly don't mean that the perfect woman is also mythical ;)

IMHO maybe the couples aren't really couples in real life :)
Not every couples, though. But there are possibilities they are not.
They met at lit and since they can't express it anywhere else, they express it here :)

Vail, I have seen your many of your posts, and do not consider them the same.

I suppose it is about thread hijacking by flirting, committed couples. Yes.
Why not just flirt (cyber) in private?

As a probable offender, let me tell you why *I* post with Natty here.

Call them what you want, the little love notes left here for each other, the "lit leavings" as I call them, are to make the other person feel loved and thought of.

There is no harm in this, and if you don't like it, iggy those who do it, skip their posts, or post a thread in regard to it. You have lots of options MrNo.

As for the back and forth in threads, some couples do that, some FRIENDS do that, and some enemies do that.

So if you are going to paint with that big old brush, cover all the back and forth. I like to think of myself as an equal opportunity poster. If I am posting back and forth with Natty, feel free to come in and join us. Others do, we love it, and they are not excluded.

*I so am wanting to post something mushy here to Natty, but will refrain :) *

To a degree, yes. Nobody likes feeling like third wheel all the time. Have you ever been around real life couples that are alwas hanging onto to each other, making out in front of you...its a good conversation killer. Like hmmn *looks up the ceiling* where to should I look, what shall I say".... haha.

Its great that anyone can find love and be happy. I DONT begrudge them that.
I myself am talking to a special lady from Lit and we are both interested in each other. However, at the same time the "constant shows" of lovely dovey affections and blathering on about how "Positively Wonderful" a persons significant other is....can be downright ANNOYING!!!

After much exposure to this phenomenon in real life in general (and Lit life) in particuliar, thats my 2 cents. Mrno: Provacative thread my man.:) Ignore the flames if you get any or send them my way! :D
