Correct me if I'm wrong,

Back to the thread topic.........

I have been guilty of this. It's never that straight-forward. You can never do it without hurting the other person on some level, no matter how good your intentions are.

When it comes to matters of the hearts, I'm suck a fucking newbie.

You know, you keep whispering sweet nothings into my ear like that and I'm liable to fall hard for you.

Yes, my little pet names make all the guys weak. :)

I've learned to expect very little from a good portion of the people online - with the rare exception of a few amazing ones I've met, most are either very fickle, untrustworthy or playing some form of game. But on the other hand, except for a select few, I don't give much of myself to anyone either.

The Devil's Advocate has arrived!

Do you think that by not giving too much of yourself to anyone on line, it may have something to do with the sort of men who engage with you?

Just curious.

Gotta stop sucking those fuckin newbies dear. :D

To me, personally, it's more hurtful to sit by a phone waiting on someone that never calls, or making yourself look like some rabid stalker type (you know the type I mean) leaving messages that are never returned. Straight up honesty might hurt a bit for a second, but it allows you the opportunity to move forward, instead of languishing in fantasy land.

I give my honesty, I show my true personality, I display to them what my real nature is - I think. I just don't trust easily.

correction: I'm SUCH a fucking newbie.

As to your point, I agree. Actually doing it, however, it a matter altogether.

It is hard - I hate being mean and hurting people's feelings, but sometimes it's necessary.
