I don't see her as evil, just a worshipper of power. A functionary.

Which makes her a classic example of the modern technocrat. Their only goal is power.

"Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!"

Question for Minsue:

M: //I can't vote on this poll. For some odd reason, the only options for no are all asinine with none based on her political views. What an odd lil oversight on your part. //

Under the 'yes' options, for her admirers, I listed her best known strength in foreign policy.

As to omitting something about 'politics' in the 'no' options, .. what are her politics? Something like Gonzales'?

I'd like someone to point out one of her major accomplishments or qualifications to me. As far as I can tell, she was in charge of National Security when 9/11 occurred as Colly said, which was probably the worst blunder by a national security adviser since Pearl Harbor (remember the memo she ignored titled "Bin Ladin Plans To Attack the US"?), and she was one of the loudest and most hysterical voices calling for the rush to war with Iraq. ("We don't want the next smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud" )

Her attempts to mend fences with Europe have not gone well at all, and it appears she's having some trouble controlling her horses at State. Her recent announcement of John "fuck the UN" Bolton as ambassador to the UN is generally seen as GWB's way of letting her demonstrate some authority. (Normally the President announces UN ambassador appointments. This time Condy did.)

Let's face it: the only thing to recommend her is reverse racism/sexism. Were she a white male no one take this any more seriously than nominating Rumsfeld or Wolfowitz.

Amen and pass the ammunition.

And by the way... if that were really the goal, Carol Mosley Brown would have gotten a lot further than she did...

Dunno doc. You have to admit, if the GOP ran a black woman for president, they would be stealing the Dem's thunder, so to speak. Since it seems a lock Hil is going to try to be the dems nominee for 2008 it would be interesting to see Condi vs. Hil, with the implication that a woman woul dbe president no matter who won.

Hey, Wolfowitz for World Bank Chairman! (on a similar note).

How about Gen. Pappas for head of Federal Corrections Facilities.

I've said it before and I stand by it: Hilary will not run in 2008. There's going to be a battle for the heart and soul of the Democratic party, and I expect the "New Democrats" will win: tougher on defense and more centrist in general. Hilary seems to be positioning herself towards the center now, but she's got a lot to live down. Right now Joe Biden has center stage, and if he can stay there watch for him to run in 2008.

As far as I can see, Condi is a real empty suit, and I don't see where she has anything to offer the republican rank and file.

Jow "Xerox" Biden? Haven't heard that he was interested in the nomination.

I don't see a lot to reccomend Condi either, except pretty much unswervingloyalty. At the same time, what did GW have to offer besides his last name?

Fair point there. It's pretty damned hard to pin down what she might or might not stand for.

Joe Biden though?

*groan*

Time to go hide my head in a bucket for another four years.
