Time to upgrade.

You can get 256 pretty reasonable.

Before buying anything.. you need to make sure your computer can be upgraded.

I can't add any new RAM to mine.. it won't accept it.

True, my only comps have been upgradables,

I looked at upgrading my old one, and to upgrade it to the size of this one, would have cost more

CONCRETE
same price,,bigger package

TH, I am sure NZ is the same as here so will will give you the advise i give everyone......

If you do buy a new box, never never never ever buy a "pre-made" from a department store. (Read HP, Compaq etc)

The internals are usually outdated and crap quality.

If you must do it that way, then Dell would be the only company I would recormend.

When buying a PC, i budget on spending about $3k, but that is always a games machine... you can pick up a decent box for about $1.5k AUD so I assume NZD would be about the same.

just my 2cents worth.

I have alot of friends who work in the industry, so if you find something and want to ask me... feel free.

whats your processor?

Whats your ram??

You have enough space to keep it running, but as litle as your hard drive is, Im assuming your ram is outdated to.

Ok stupid question, but how do I find out what my hard drive ram is.. *ram is the same as hard drive correct?* I want to find out all the specs of my puter so I can see if XP will run on it.

I am using ME

hmmm ok i admitt to not knowing much about that one... but if it is anything like win98 (which i use), go to start, settings, control pannel, system.

Now again, if it is like win98, the first "tab" here will be "general" which will give you the ram, or else under the "performance" tab.

hope that helps

how can I get my damn webcam to work??????
I downloaded new versions of msn and Yahoo, all the cables are connected. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH

I don't know about windows ME from what i have seen it is trouble. I took it off my computer. It was hanging up a lot.

If it is close to windows 98se than more than 512Mb of ram might screw it up.

On 98se unless your a gamer or run a lot of photo programs and such at the same time the preformance between 320Mb and 512Mb of ram is not worth the money. At least according to a graph i saw one time.

I'm running windows 98....

I have defragged...

Defrag doesn't touch the virtual memory swap file in windows 98. Try changing your virtual memory settings in Control Panel -> System -> performance.

Once you've changed them, reboot, and defrag the hard-drive again.

Once the defrag is done, you can change the virtual memory settings back to what they were if you want.
