I was cleaning my keyboard the other day and now I cant tab through pages.
It brings up the next window in the taskbar...how do I switch it back?

Hit the CTRL key a few times...that problem tends to happen when the CTRL key is stuck.

You didnt have to mess with my keyboard! All ya had to do was ask...

and btw...the ctrl thing didnt work:(

It definitely sounds like a stuck key. If it happened after you cleaned your keyboard, then it probably is a stuck key somewhere.

Press firmly on each key....it's one of them I bet.

I have jiggled the damn things silly!! it is a brand new keyboard...and the type of keys it has make them hard to stick.... but Ill jigglem some more.:)

if you push ALT and the tab button it goes through the icons on your tray...

I would say that you have a stuck ALT key, but if you did, you wouldn't be able to type any posts.

What did you use to clean your keyboard? It sounds like you've shorted something out so the tab key is sending Alt-Tab instead of Tab.

I'm afraid the probable solution is a new keyboard. This doesn't sound like something that will fix itself or can be corrected easily.

You can try unplugging the keyboard for an hour or so and trying again -- sometimes, a static discharge can temporarily scramble the keyboard buffer and removing power will correct it. I don't hold out a great deal of hope though.

Mine does that inexplicably sometimes. I know your keyboard and it is not wet. At least on the inside.

Reboot. Today it will work.

Why do you have to clean your keyboard so much?

I missed Mr. WH. Bummer...

My keyboard is still from my first DOS machine :D !

15 years and still going while other pieces, boards, and finally a monitor have come and gone. But as long as I have my keyboard (and it's NOT ergonomic :D ), it's still the very same computer in my mind...

I still use an old IBM Selectric style keyboard, too. It's a nice heavy piece of hardware that doesn't shift around as I type, and has enough resistance to the keys to handle my ham-handed typing style. :p

I cleaned it with a dry paper towel...I Have a virtually indestructible keyboard... Nothing can get inside it. I was just wiping off some ashes and cat hair. both alt keys function normally. And yes since rebooting it seems to be working fine. :)
