I know (and have seen) Wargames, Hackers, Antitrust, and Swordfish.

Does anyone else know of any others that are worth watching?

I have also heard something about a Hackers 2, called "Takedown" and that it's supposed to be the Kevin Mitnick (sp?) story. Has anyone else heard of or seen this movie?

there was the 'Net with sandra bullock, though I never saw it.

The Matrix was pretty fucked up and having to do a bit with computers.

If you are in a really thoughtful logical mood try 'Pi' (its actually the symbol). It has to do about figuring out the universe or something with a solvable mathimatical equation. I thought it was pretty cool.

'Tron' - Go inside a computer and fight the circuitry (80's era)

Ah yes, I was a fool for forgetting The Matrix (pretty fawked up I agree), and The Net. But I have never even heard of Pi, and didn't even consider Tron a computer movie (but damn I wish the campground I frequent had a game like that).

Thanks for the suggestions though.

I found it goring, but then I never caught it from the beginning. Don't expect any special effects - it is a rather arcane film.

Being a computer pro I don't really care for computer movies - Hollywood just doesn't seem capable of producing a realistic one that isn't cuck full of flaws and unrealistic expectations of what computers can do. The matrix was okay, but it was less about computers than it was about fantasy.

I totally agree. Ha, maybe a few of us Lit computer people should ponder and scheme up a plot for a computer movie that makes sence. Only problem is that ACTUAL computer work (manageing and maintaining a network, codeing a program, etc) is almost borring, and to make it movie worthy you need to stretch the truth a bit.

computers are boring why would anyone want to watch a movie about them :p

PI was a very good movie i liked the way it didnt even try to make the computer realistic

I thought that 'Pi' was a fascinating movie but not really about computers per se. It was definitely Noi-ish and a very well done movie all around.

Pi was an excellent movie but focused on mathematics and spirituality. The computers were just tools.
