I was doing a search yesterday & found out I have a problem.

So here's the deal:

I search for something (lets just say NFL.COM), the search comes back & shows several/many websites. However when I click on the site it doesn't go anywhere.

I thought maybe this was a problem with excite, so I tried it using yahoo & infoseek, but it still will not open it.

However if I type the web address in, or go to it from my favorites I have no problem.

Plus I have no problem going to news items & websites from my home page. I just can't go to anything brough up by a web search?????

Re-Activate X.

Re-Activate Java.

That'll usually solve the problem.

I think that's for Java.

Active X is in the Security tab. Click on the Custom Level button. You'll see the options.

Thanks for the help I will try it.

Whats really weird is that I just found out the everthing seem fine if I use Lycos. However excite, infoseek, google, & yahoo will not work???

for some reason yahoo likes to put his weird rd.yahoo.com thingee in preceeding the real http and i always get a non-exisitant' page

fortunately i dont use yahoo too much

Well I finally fixed the problem. I appears some how (maybe to much porn surfing) that I got a file added to my explorer.

In the advance tab under Search address from line, I had a file/option for Hot Phrases, which had 2 sub files. 1. Optimize Address 2. Optimize search.

Both these files where selected. However when I deselected them it cured my problems.

I can remember getting a call from someone several months ago trying to sell me leads from Hotphrases.com but I don't recall downloading a file from them.

Anyways it makes me feel a little uneasy that someone may have access my machine.
