Iran's President dies in a plane crash. The Supreme Leader picks his successor, and WE label that a dictatorship. Joe Biden is tossed to the curb by 5 or 6 people and is replaced by Kamala, and we call that Democracy? Show me the difference. 14 million people voted for Biden in the primaries, and Harris is hand picked by 5 or 6 people.

Kamala Harris has been Joe Biden’s designated replacement for over 4 years. Some of the big donors wanted someone else to replace Biden, but the immediate groundswell of support for her prevented the rich elites from subverting the will of the people.

If you complain about it, you don't get a broomstick up your butt or your arm hacked off. :)

Dude, in the entire time you’ve been on Literotica, you’ve only posted right wing shit in the politics forum. Do you even have erotic interests or kinks? Wtf are you here for?

That might be true except of the little matter of the primary election. :)

The difference is that Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Harris.

You look soooo adorable attempting to sow the seeds of illegitimacy in a democratic election.
An incumbent opts (admittedly rather late) out in an election cycle and you have the vapors.
Start a GoFundMe and I'll contribute to your fainting couch.

First and foremost, I'm NOT a fan of Trump. What I'm also not a fan of is Michelle, Hilary and Nancy, along with two former Pesidents deciding for 330 million Americans who the dems should have as their candidate.

Joe Biden decided not to accept their nomination and instead endorsed Harris. The convention will vote and nominate their choice as they always have.

Since you’re not a Democrat, why do you care?

Why do I care? The dems are crying Trump will bring an end to democracy, while 5 or 6 hotshots pick the nominee.

It took Harris less than 48 hrs. to round up enough delegates to make it unanimous.

As one of the ones who voted Biden in the primary I was overjoyed he stepped aside. I had one name on my primary ballot to vote for in that race, Joe Biden. It would have been great having a realistic option but I didn’t. I definitely wasn’t disenfranchised when he stepped aside. More excited and ready to go.

Also, nearly 4000 delegates pick the nominee.

also also, most of the names that are claimed to have pushed him out wanted an open convention not one candidate. Any number of people could have joined the race but no on did. It’s actually not that complicated.

Has a different person from the one elected in the primary election been selected? I don't know the answer. :)
The convention hasn't happened yet. Perhaps you should check the schedule.

Historically, yes, other people have been selected at the convention that did not win their partiy's primaries.

This is accepted fact or your opinion? :)

We're way passed 1972. If I read that correctly twice in the modern era? So basically a primary vote isn't worth the paper it's written on. :)
There's only been 13 Presidential elections since then. And most of the time the incumbent doesn't have a challenger.

But before 72, it was common to have different candidates.

This is the first time a presumptive nominee has stepped down from consideration, I believe.
