Comments That Make Your Day

This was a DM, that really made my day:

I am glad to know that there are active people on this website I love your stories, I love how real your characters are, I love club x and above all I love being able to write this message thinking that you will read it, you are a great writer and it is an honor to be able to read your stories Keep writing for much longer, you will always have a fan

Whenever I think about stepping away from my keyboard, which I've been considering lately, it's comments like this that make me want to keep writing.

“You managed to make an out and out stroke story still somehow human - maybe that’s not what you were going for, but perhaps you just can’t help yourself.”

Hood & Hole

H&H is a rather ugly little piece, written mostly on planes. So nice that at least one person found some redeeming features to it.

OK, this week's nomination for the most ambiguous comment, from Anon, of course:

I can't make up my mind whether I liked where it was going or I wasted my time reading chapter one, but keep going.

OK, and thanks for taking the time to comment, but is that good or bad? 🤨

In any case, it was a one-off story, not Chap 1.

Thats a magnificent tragedy, a horror love timing, a heart crashing Christmas but the most beautiful present ….. a dying with a smile, with a jubilant soul is the sweetest path ….. a short tale with a short path to my heart soul tears

Comment on Eddie’s Christmas Gift.

I have been writing about an imaginary Vietnamese family for a year now and my entry in the April Fools contest was about a Vietnamese woman who pulled an elaborate prank on her blind husband. Previous comments mentioned yellow fever, call it what you want, but I love the Asian culture and wish I had spent more time over there. So here's the comment that made my weekend

As an Vietnamese American, I don't feel this is a yellow fever story! Tam doesn't seem fetishized for her asian-ness and the touches of accurate Vietnamese shows care.

This actually came in awhile ago but I forgot to share it.

On my sequel, The White Room Revisited:

Truly amazing storyline. Loved it. When you opened with a little bit of Pink Floyd, I knew it was going to be a half-decent read. Although I may have used another of their pieces, from Dark Side - Time.

It has been a long time since I have read sci-fi, but you have re-awaken my desire to read some more. Thank you.

As a sequel in an already low read category, it's nice to know the small audience that found it is enjoying it.

I struggled with my "On the Job" (https://literotica.com/s/like-a-fine-wine-3) story for a couple of years. I couldn't figure out where it was going, but finally it clicked. I'm glad I persevered. I've received four great comments in a day, with the latest from Reader1000 -

"Flawless. Well-paced, well/written. Excellent character development, good back stories. A second chapter would be more than welcome though this story can stand well on its own. Thanks."

I think I'll retire now. How can I top that?

From Funeral Dirge for a Fairytale:
That was ...I don't know what I was expecting, but that wasn't it. It's a deep, emotionally entangling, skyscraper of a story. I stumbled on your earlier story, and it was pretty good - par for the course here. This one blows past it & becomes a whole new animal.

From Why She Cheated:
That was quite good, better than that actually. I am quite impressed, honestly. Stories like this can come off like yet another trope in a sea of clichéd plots with unbelievable characters. This one is more akin to being challenged to beat the odds and you responded with "hold my beer"

And one from a hater on the same story that made me laugh:
I wonder how many times it's possible to rewrite the same story? Guess we'll find out when you think up an original plot.

Okay, Mr. Sockpuppet account with no submissions and no favorites. Whatever you say.

Came in this morning on my very first story, "The Doctor Is In...Me."

Really good writing makes you forget you're reading a story someone has created out of their imagination. This story did that for me. Clunky writing with too many obvious mistakes breaks you out of that dream. Aspiring writers, take note. And the author says this is their first story? Excellent 5/5

It's an especially nice comment considering I still look back on that one and see how clunky some of it is.

This is not a comment per se, but rather a terribly flattering afterword to @NoTalentHack ’s rather splendid Why She Cheated, which deserves a much better reception than it seems to have received so far.

I would feel remiss not to acknowledge his kindness.

If you enjoyed this, I have a recommendation: go check out the short story Fragile by EmilyMiller. Like this one, it's about the kindness of strangers and how sometimes meeting the right person at the right time can be the best way to let go of past pain.

Emily also writes just absolutely stupidly hot sex scenes, if that's of interest to you, and her stories can switch seamlessly between funny, heartfelt, raunchy, and contemplative. Her work is mostly in Fetish, but she's dabbled in a number of other categories. Most recently, she's put in a couple of really great Sci-Fi submissions, Coleoidphilia and its sequel Determination. The stories are centered around an alien, but they're still wonderfully human. Emily's never posted in LW, so play nice in the comments, y'all.

As an aside, I think this is a great idea and a way we can support each other and maybe help to find new audiences.

Very pleasing when someone revisits my work and gets a better result:
When I first read this some years ago, it seemed a bit too far-out for me. I mean I love anal sex, both giving and receiving, but shitting? I thought not. However I re-read the story last night and was overcome with a wonderful full-body orgasm. I think you do a great job of evoking the primal nature of sexuality, its connection to earth and all things basic. And that is hot enough for me

This has got to be one of the nicer comments I've ever received for my On The Job Story - Crashing at the Office

God, you do write great romance. And of course, great romance causes some awfully hot sex in real life, so you really do write great sex as well. A great story teller has a way of causing one to put themselves into the characters they are reading about or hearing about. That is the magic of a true "Dream Weaver" and you do seem to possess that magic... :)

Loved this simple comment on Finding What's Real: Wonderful story. It is refreshing to read about realistic, human characters. Well done!

An incest story without the trepidations of whether it is right or not, how to hide it from the parents, and also without "will they or won't they?"

Nicely done, sweet, romantic, fun and sexy
On Coming Home, my homage to Xarth.

My entry for On The Job, In Vitro Veritas, is not doing as well as I'd like. Part of that, probably the biggest part, is that most of the people following me are from Loving Wives, and IVV is in Fetish and clashes with their sensibilities; the comments so far bear that out. So it was nice to get this comment that tells me that the story, ah, works for its intended audience:

I don’t know what the other comments are on about. I had to read this in parts because I rubbed myself raw. So hot.
