This isn't about one comment, but about a comments phenomenon centered around my latest chapter I've put up.

It's a one-shot that's attached to my Alexaverse. The public comments on my wall have been lukewarm, saying that while it's funny, it's not as funny my normal Alexaverse stuff with the regular crew. None of the comments are negative, but many of these are regular readers I recognize who just didn't laugh as hard as normal.

Here's the weird part...

I'm getting reviews in my email vand PMs where people are raving about the chapter, and saying they were almost sobbing with laughter. I've got seven comments on my wall, but I've had about twenty of these direct messages.

I'm not quite sure what the difference is, why these people are contacting me this way. I'm thrilled to hear from them, because maybe they don't normally comment publicly, but the difference in tone is interesting to me.

Not sure what to make of it.

To be honest, almost any comment makes my day, but getting this on a chapter published a few months ago was nice. A counsellor at a summer camp for kids 'known to the police' was lonely, but gets to know certain staff very well indeed.

This was a very welcomed comment by yukonnights about my story - Alina is Missing - Help Find Her! I felt that warm glow of satisfaction spreading across my face upon reading his remarks.

In light of what you said in the Intro — "… Just a highly charged foreshadowing and character development of Jack Wilson. It gives rise to the shadow government he creates to 'Fix' egregious wrongs."

I think it is very well written and served the intended goal. I was so engrossed that I was sorry it ended. But again, for what you intended I think it lays a good foundation for this> '… I make contact with a few courageous individuals willing to step beyond those boundaries into the realm of a shadow government for resolution.'

I'd say go for it. Create that vigilante group with the few who are courageous and who will hunt down those criminals! Even though this isn't — nor was it intended to be — a complete story, I'm gonna throw you 5 shiny stars for encouragement.
